Hey - Has anybody else noticed after upgrading from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 using this method, periodically once completed the iPhone will bring up an empty black screen with Cancel or OK options at the bottom and a Back button at the top? Happened on two iPhones I did last night, the message stays for about 10 seconds then clears itself if you don't action it and it will also cause the iPhone to turn on the screen when sleeping. It hasnt done it that Ive noticed in a few hours now but its still strange. I guess I'll just blame Optus..

I've noticed it too with my Optus Sim's

Seems to be something to do with either the unlock, or the SIM Applications

I believe the problem with ZiPhone on OSX Tiger has now been fixed in the latest versions of ZiPhone. I haven't got a phone needing it to try it out on though. Could someone let me know if they've tried it on Tiger and its now working, and if so I'll edit the guide to reflect this.

Quick Queestion - Can i go from 1.0.2 OTB to 1.1.3?

Yes, you can, but unless you know that your phone was unlocked with a method that doesn't require it, you should first do the revirginising described in the clean up guide (see link in step 2 of this upgrade guide). But then you are safe to go straight to 1.1.3.

I had problems here between steps 4 and 5.

Ziphone kept returning the 5 error. Took me ages to figure out what was going on.

Make sure, if you are still on 10.4.11, that you have Ziphone 4.4. I thought I did, and downloaded it a few times thinking that I had the latest. And realised that I didn't have the latest.

Also, it wouldn't work for me until I had the iPhone in DFU mode.

Now that I have done this, and been using 1.1.3 for a while, I want to revert to 1.1.2. Can anyone tell me how to do that? The hackthatphone tute failed to work for me which I think must be to do with the fact that i used ziphone.

Virginise and start over? Is that even possible for 1.1.3?

Now, one thing i am worried about is being able to download the apps thru the phone, as atm i am unable todo it thru gprs and my wifi is cactus, cant find a solution on here ... or i just dont know what to look for properly ...
am using a turbosim or similar atm ... (card that goes over ur sim)
just being precautios and dont want to brick it just yet
i am running osx 10.4.11 and iphone 1.1.2
itunes most recent update and am on the optus network

I'd suggest posting your query in the iphone help section, I seem to think there are others with that issue, and there might be a solution there.

HZ-GTS: Me too....but the iPhone works very well...I use ZiPhone 2.4 in two 1.1.3 OTB and in one 1.1.1 OTB, upgraded to 1.1.2 with OKTOPREP and then updated to 1.1.3 with iTunes. All the phones works OK, but the red "ERROR 1" appears always in the screen of ZiPhone

Yep, i just did this and also got error: 1 - phones fine.

Now that 1.1.4 is out. Can these same instructions still be used, only one would need to use option+restore button to Restore to 1.1.3? Is that correct?

No 1.1.4 is not unlocked so DO NOT UPGRADE !

That bit I understand, but one could still restore to 1.1.3 the continue with the instructions couldn't they?
