Wiping Clean before 1.1.3 Upgrade (BabySteps Guide)

What will it achieve
If you are the cautious type, or if you have tampered with your iPhone a lot and know that it is probably full of junk left over from old third party applications and the like, or if your phone has been having some problems with unknown causes, you might want to try to clean everything out as much as possible before upgrading to 1.1.3 and going through the jailbreak, activate and unlock process. The further you go in the guide below, the more thoroughly you will clean it up.

1. Delete 3rd party applications
1.1 Tap on “Installer” and then on “Uninstall” at the bottom of the screen.
1.2 This will bring up a list of the third party applications currently installed on your phone.
1.3 Tap on the first one, and then tap on the “Uninstall” button that comes up at the top right of the screen.
1.4 When it has done, repeat the process for each of the remaining 3rd party apps.

2. Reset Everything
2.1 Go to Settings>General>Reset and run all the options, starting from the bottom one and working your way up the list.

3. Delete the Back-up of your iPhone
3.1 Open iTunes on your computer.
3.2 Open the iTunes “Preferences” and click on “Syncing”
3.3 Click on the name of your iPhone
3.4 Click on “Remove Backup”.

4. Revirginize
4.1 Revirginizing is only necessary if your iPhone was unlocked using anySIM 1.0 - 1.0.2, iUnlock, iUnlock-fast or any similar older method. If your phone was unlocked using anySIM 1.1 or later you can skip this section. If you are not sure, then if your iPhone is still running firmware 1.0.2 or earlier, it is worth revirginising. If your phone is running firmware 1.1.1, and has an 0049xxx IMEI, it is worth revirginising. You can check the IMEI in Settings > General > About.
2.2 If you have established that you need to revirginize, go to Settings > General > Auto Lock and set it to “Never”.
2.4 On your iPhone, tap on Installer . Add a new source called http://i.unlock.no/ (if it is not already there). To do this you tap on “Sources”, then on “Edit”, then on “Add”, then type in the address, and then tap on “OK”.
2.5 Refresh sources (it will probably do that by itself), and then install BSD Sybsystem if it is not already on your phone. To check if it is already there, tap on “Uninstall” and see if it is in the list. If it is, go to the next step. If it’s not, install it by tapping on “Install”, then on the “System” folder, then on “BSD Subsystem” and then on the “Install” button at the top.
2.6 Return to Installer and install “The Virginizer”. To do this, tap on “Install”, then on the “ Unlocking Tools” folder, then on “The Virginizer” and then on the “Install” button at the top. It will then automatically run and will take about 3-5 minutes to complete.
2.7 When completed, your iPhone will be showing the “Activate iPhone” screen.

4. DFU Mode Restore
4.1 In the web browser on your computer, go to http://iphone.unlock.no/#restore-firmware-files and under the heading “Where can i find the iPhone firmware files?” click on the link for the firmware your iPhone originally came out of the box with. The firmware will begin downloading to wherever your downloads normally go.
4.2 Your browser may add a “.zip” to the end of the name of this downloaded file, but don’t unzip it. Instead, when the download is complete, remove the .zip from the end of the name, and confirm this when it queries it. It will now end with .ipsw, and you will see its icon change to a little cube with music notes and an iPod picture on it. (If your computer automatically unzips the downloaded file, you can trash the resulting folder and get the .zip file from the Trash.)
4.3 When the download is complete, open iTunes and connect your iPhone to your computer.
4.4 Put your phone into DFU mode. To do this, turn the phone off (by holding power switch down for 5 seconds and then sliding the slider) while still attached to the computer. Then hold down the power/sleep button and the home button together for a full 10 seconds. Then keep holding down the home button, but release the power/sleep button. Keep holding the home button until the computer beeps to indicate that it has recognised a USB devise, or until iTunes tells you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode (to which you can click OK). The phone display will not come on at all.
4.5 You may then get a message from iTunes asking permission to check for firmware. Click OK.
4.6 Then, hold down the OPTION-key (Mac) or the SHIFT-key (Windows) and while holding it down, click the “Restore” button. This will let you choose the firmware file you have downloaded by navigating to the place to which you downloaded it, and choosing it.
4.7 When it is finished, the phone may be in recovery mode, but don’t worry. You are going on from this to a 1.1.3 upgrade anyway, and that will take care of this.

You'll also need to revirginise if you used the Geohotz Hardware unlock for 1.0.2
But not if you've upgraded and anySIM'd since then

*sigh* Is there something that might need to be installed that I do not have that could be causing this?
As I was following the guide I have removed alot of 3rd party Apps, Currently I have installed:
Community Sources
BSD Subsystem
Installer
OpenSSH
Term-vt100

Do I need to install anything thing else? or is there another way to Virginize ?

--UPDATE--
Im not quite sure what was wrong with the source for 'The Virginizer' yesterday, but I tried it today and it worked all fine.
