How to procure an iPhone in Australia?
Hi All,
I am sure this has been posted elsewhere, but I cant find it. I would like to but the reduced $299 4gb iphone from the US but dont know anyone who lives in the US. I beleive there is a service that forwards mail from a US postal address to and Aussie one. Does anyone know the name of this service? I could buy off Ebay, but the prices seem highly inflated.
Also has anyone software unlocked their devices yet or is it still a hardware based unlock that works.
Thanks
Craig

[Merged] How to procure an iPhone on Australia
Is there any way to buy an iPhone from Oz? Are there any people/companies that are selling hacked iPhones?
My Nokia N80 just started playing up and I was looking at getting a new phone, and though the N95 seemed like a nice option, I eventually want an iPhone.
Anyone purchased an iPhone from OS?

If you have a spare USD$799 these people claim to sell unlocked iPhones, I've never bought from them however.

There were 3 of them supposedly unlocked going on ebay for $US700 last night. I sent a PM to the guy selling them and he was happy for me to try it with my sim card before buying. We are both based in Melbourne
Considering I was going to get work to send me one over. I was happy to pay the $100 or so premium and get one now. I also dont have to worry about unlocking it. Though work is still a backup if the ebay deal falls to shit. But the guy seemed genuine enough

I bought mine from an ebay vendor called extremelectronix. he has one on there now with the following item number.
150160092039
No hesitation in recommending. All was good. Even got a tax invoice to salary sacrifice it.

I'm not comfortable giving you his number. But this is one of the ebay links. Just say you got it searching on past auction results

Good luck. I know I got the last one. Do what I do and ask for a demo before buying.
I am not the winning bid on that auction. My feedback is way better!

Pretty steep price considering it still has to be un-locked.
After going through all the un-locking threads online, it's done my head in and I really don't want the hassles, and just want to buy an un-locked iPhone.

iPhones in Melbourne?
Anyone know anywhere in Melbourne I can get an iPhone? (for $550-600 or so)
I'm sick of not having one and now that the unlock looks good, I think I'll give it a shot

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. My dad's heading to the US in October, but if there's anyplace to get them here sooner then I might have to do it.
