I know it's probably time I moved on, but to date I still only have 1 program that I like to do scanning in, and it's OS 9, with no X updates.

I'm probably not going Leopard any time soon anyway... though the external drive is an option. I have my M9 drive, which has 10.3 on it I think, together with the diagnostic tools as suggested by Brains. I've not considered breaking up my internal drive for that use... guess it's something to consider for my next Mac...
