Erm, the iPhones ship from China, not the US. Also they would retail for alot more than $399.
I call BS.

Yes please.
Guys, at least give the chance to explain, instead of shooting him down in flames.
Call BS as much as you like, but only when you have all the facts.

well, I ill give you (copy and paste) the email that I received from him today - after I enquired about his services, lets remember, the iphone in the US is about $199, so thats about $250 AU?? anyway, here is his email below:
"Hi mate I understand your position. I export from New Zealand and we have similar problems here. You have to sign up to Vodafone for $250 per month and still have to pay $600 for the phone!
However I import from the USA and direct from Apple. My prices are as follows:
8GB NZ$229
16GB NZ$319
NEW 32GB NZ$329*
The new 32GB model are currently being shipped from my storage facility in LA, USA and I can offer a price of only $329 as the phone will be shipped directly from LA to you instead of going to NZ and then shipping it across the ditch.
Please note that I will be shipping the 32GB models on Thursday so from that point onwards the new standard price for the 32GB model will come in place which is NZ$399.

It's only currently non-existent, doesn't mean it will continue to be in the near future.
But I'm starting to see how this could be a scam.
basseyy, are you intending on purchasing something with him? Tread carefully if you are.

I understand..I am thinking seriously about it, but I will only buy it if he has a paypal account or some other type of authentic system.. Yes It could be a scam, but it is surely worth asking for more details from him.

Surely they won't do this yet?!!?!?
iPhone 3G was the most recent product they have released...
doesn't make sense to piss off your loyal customer base to within three months make the top of the line product obsolete!?!?!?!

Why would they bother releasing the iPhone just over 2 months ago for it to be superseded?
It'd seem highly unlikely that any of the iPhone guys have had enough time to work on a 32gb iPhone just yet and whats the advantage of Apple releasing a 32gb phone just yet?

From memory the 32gb touch was released only a few months after the original launch of the 8 & 16gb models.
So I suppose anything is possible.
