People who have a professional responsibility to really check it out and measure every cent, trying to make savings still choose a Telstra plan for their phone systems.
The other telcos will always be behind, justified by the bargain rates...

Get what you pay for? They charge such an exorbitant amount for data on their NextG network it's ridiculous! Optus - $20/month for 1GB. Telstra - $60/month for 1GB. PATHETIC.
Telstra do offer 1GB for $30/month, however, you need to have a Telstra service already *and* sign up to a 36 month contract, where *only the first 12 months are $30*. After 12 months, you get reamed at $60/month.
If Telstra would let me go on a 24 month contract, with a free 7.2mbit USB modem for $30/month, then I'd move to it from 3, where I pay $15/month (half of what Telstra charge).
There is simply no excuse for what Telstra charge for their NextG network. It should be much more competitive with the competition, but no - Telstra are happy to take advantage of those who don't do research and just fork out whatever Telstra charge. Telstra have every right to do it, they are a company after all, not a charity. However, they won't be getting my money while they commit such highway robbery.
