How much stuff have you got on there? full 16GB?? Mine did the update in a few minutes (wasn't really watching, but less than 10 minutes, surely), and backup within sync was no longer than usual...

Right iphone is updated. Took about 15 min, and so far i have yet to see any huge improvements. Except for txt seems a tad faster, and contact lag seems shorter. As for reception i have two bars and not one. Though reception in my house is crap anyway.

Can someone please post the direct download link from apple so I can download the update at work?
Then I can take the file home to update and save on my home internet download cap.
Cheers

Plug your phone in at work. Click 'download only'. When it is finished downloading it will be in HD > Users > You > Library > iTunes > iPhone Software Updates.

Not really - close to 10GB. It happens every time I try and back up my iphone. Takes close to 2 hours. I've tried removing the option of sending info to apple, and deleting the last backup before backing up, but nothing has worked. Last time I updated to 2.0.1 it took almost 3 hours

check this.. the iphone devteam have released quickpwn. download it, upgrade (restore might work) your phone to 2.0.2, run quickpwn, load in 2.0.1 software and let it do its business. You should have a jailbroken/activated/unlocked iphone with 2.0.2.

1 GB /month on iPhone firmware downloads ?
At the rate things are going, it'll cost us 1GB/month just to keep the thing up to date.
People squeal over less when it comes to Mac OS updates. I wonder if it will make as much 'media' over the iPhone?
Of course, we'll tolerate anything as long as there *might* be Copy & Paste.
(Dang, I wanted to post a link to a fake Keyboard settings screen with Copy/Paste pref... but even MacRumors pulled it. Emotions must be running high over that particular feature.)

I noticed that. When I tapped a name, it used to give no feedback and would jam the interface for about a second, then I would see the contact. Now I tap, the name goes blue and almost without lag, the contact details appear.
I work in Surry Hills and I have virtually no bars. The funny thing is that using the phone is great. The other person sounds clear and good, they hear me, all works great, yet per the graph, my reception is lousy.
