after playing with the iPhone more. The reception issue doesn't seem to he fixed as it is always sitting on 2 bars. I've had some keyboard lag using the Internet.

That's far from very scientific  perhaps the new firmware just draws more bars (i.e. scales differently).
Some people enjoy pinball machines that count up in millions of points, others are happy with just counting units....

I hope 2.0.2 addresses 3G reception...and not a hack to do what u just said!
but yes..ppl will say snappier..but..want to be devils advocate and say... "wait couple of days..and see if is still snappier.."
..

I've got the latest iphone beta, and yes, there is a 3G reception fix included in that so maybe it got passed to this too.

nope, carrier settings dosent pop up.
also, the modem (radio) version is new, its 2.08.01 now, it was 1.4.06? cant remember. but the bar graph is the same for me.

I'm running 2.0.1 and my modem FW is 01.48.02, sweet, time for the upgrade.
will have to wait until i'm home to test signal though...at home range it terrible, at work i get full 3G though.
