Not bad for $17

(plus I like that it's down low, not up on the windscreen like you seen GPS toys all the time)

Thanks for the post mate, i have been thinking about getting this one myself, it is currently the best as far as I can see.
A few questions: is this the model that makes a beep every 45 seconds?
Can it rotate to view video 90˚?
Does it have an AUX line out as well as the transmitter?
Are you still using it and what are your thoughts after about a month or so?
Thanks mate, and by the way - Great post

- Beep every 45 seconds: NO (that'd go out the window after about 90 seconds)
- Can it rotate; YES It can rotate to whatever angle you want, it's on a flexible (stiff, but flexible) arm
- AUX Line out: NO. It does have a USB slot for charging a second device though.
- Still using it: YES, loving it. Took it on a road trip through WA for a week with some friends, now they're buying them too...
cheers

Best of both worlds
Hi all, been following this post and it has been really informative, thank you all.
Has anybody seen this product?
mobile.brando.com.hk
the great thing about this is:
You can choose windshield or vent mounted,
You can choose FM transmitter or Aux out (to be confirmed,)
It claims to be able to be"Hands-free supprts talking through car speaker system."
Remote control
Can anybody confirm how good/bad this is?

I've got the one on Dealextreme.
Works perfectly and I love the cable attachment.

I bought the same thing from iphoneaccessoriesaustralia.com.au for $149. It actually does work but-
They didn't include any instructions or manual - so setting it up was pure luck
[They still have been unable to assist with this]
The so-called suction attachment to the windscreen or dash "sucks' but not enough - I had to take it off and add my own attachment.
They say it rotates - but only if you take it apart everytime you wish to rotate it
It also has a nagging flashing frequency read-out which I have been unable to turn off, so I've just moved the phone up to cover it [again the seller was less than helpful in resolving]
You have to plug everything in and then switch it on rather than have it come on automatically. It does get the "This accessory warning does not..." but a no sends that away without problem.
Not sure about the "aux" output?
The remote works but is a little temperamental.
On the positive side -
It does work, plays songs thru speakers and when a call comes thru mutes song and then resumes after call is finished.
Apart from the setup problems would recommend it but not from "iphoneaccessoriesaustralia".

This forum is the best, thanks people!
This thread is the best information on the web about this, compared to other forums you guys are really nice and informative, and take reviews seriously, with positives and negatives.
Cheers for the info!

Does anybody know of dodgy car chargers damaging iPhone batteries? My friend told me that she heard something about car chargers using the wrong type of current, which could damage your phone battery. Admittedly she was very vague but she did get me thinking...

On that note, I just googled an article where the guy wrote that using any car charger to charge your phone can damage the battery. More interesting than that is the string of comments below basically poo pooing what he just said. Unfortunately, I'm typing this on the iPhone so can't copy and paste the link (that's an issue for another post!), but if u search for "chris pirillo mobile car chargers batteries" it will probably be your first hit.

are there any car steroes &/or iPhone mounts that allow charging and audio playback (not FM) with the iPhone 3G thru the USB cable and NOT with a mini jack cable? that would be awesome! plus if anyone knows if you can have bluetooth hand-free with the iPhone still in the mount that would ne even more awesome.

Struggling with iPhone battery life....HELP!
I have been searching for a compact rechargeable battery. Liked the mophie but too bulky and not exactly what I'm looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was just overseas and a friend was carryng a compact and cable-free rechargeable battery (that works with the iphone) called 3gjuice. He said they were supposedly coming to Australia. Anyone familiar with the device?
Tired of running out of battery on my iPhone...
