Prepaid iPhone gone from Optus website
Just checked the Optus website, it no longer mentions the iPhone on prepaid. It used to have it's own page under prepaid...
I guess the 4+ weeks I've been waiting for my 16GB will be extended

With Telstra supposedly stopping selling outright iPhones, and now Optus doing the same, I now have no hope for getting an iPhone

Well, well - it seems to me that the pre-paid phones are less profitable, so Optus is deciding to simply satisfy the customers on a contract first until pre-paid comes back.
Not a very customer friendly move, but I can understand where Optus is coming from. They have hoards of customers wanting to sign up to contracts but have to give stock to pre-paid, where they'll make less money. Makes sense to give contract customers priority as that's where the long term revenue will come from.
Apple just need to make more freakin' iPhones!

I'm just hoping that they will still honour the deposit I and many others put down on one (in my case the 12th, 9:00am!) when pre-paid was offered.

I picked up an 8g iphone on prepaid from All Phones in Midland in Perth on Friday. They had gotten a delivery of 3. They were suprised, they didn't think they were going to get a delivery before Xmas.

But what if you were on a contract and canceled it.
How much would you be owing there?

I heard from a reliable source that a new shipment will arrive in September.
Optus in Adelaide are still taking names down for their waitlist to buy an iPhone outright.

Thinking also, the delay in stock, maybe there tweaking the device!
