Bluetooth handsfree car kit
My boss has a bluetooth handsfree kit called "Supertooth II" which used to pair with his blackberry. His iphone does not recognise it. Any tips on how to pair such devices or can someone recommend a different bluetooth handsfree kit for his car that is iphone compatible?

I have the BlueAnt Supertooth 3 working very well with my iPhone, cant see why the ST2 would not work. Have seen it advertised somewhere as a car kit for the iPhone.

I reckon my Supertooth 2 pairs with my iPhone. It shows up in as paired but I haven't done much testing on it yet.

dmw, yep the supertooth II definately pairs with the iphone.
Just make sure your boss is putting the car kit into pairing mode by holding down the answer button when he turns it on. Should pick it up straight away.

Anyone paired it with the BMW Bluetooth installation?
I hear the BMW installation fails to work with virtually all phones except a few model Ericsson, Seimens and Nokia models...

It pairs fine with my E60. Full address book transfer as well. BMW is not particularly friendly with Symbian S60 from my knowledge.

Is there an option to have the iphone remain in Bluetooth "Discovery Mode" permanently?
Because my current phone "Motorola V3XX" does not which is really annoying having to turn discovery mode on and manually pair with my handsfree (Which is a Navman S90i GPS) everytime I get into the car.

I thought that once pairing is performed, there is no need to keep iPhone in discovery mode.
That's how it works with my car handsfree.

That is how it's supposed to work but unfortunately my current phone doesn't do it. It's really frustrating

Does the voice announcements work with your iPhone 3G?
I almost bought this last weekend - but the salesman wasn't sure if Supertooth 3 worked with iPhone or only Supertooth light?
Couldn't see Apple or iPhone 3G listed as compatible on their website either.

Address book wont sync with the ST3 so voice announcements by name doesn't work but it announces the number that is calling

I have a BlueAnt Supertooth 3 and my wife and I both have iPhone 3Gs. There are two issues with it that I have found.
The address book loading function does not work.
The BlueAnt Supertooth 3 cannot pair with more than one iPhone 3G. Well technically it can pair with two but it will only ever talk to the most recently paired phone. The limitation from BlueAnts perspective is that there is no software option on the iPhone 3G to tell it to connect to a device and the Supertooth 3 only searches for the most recently paired device by default.
I'm pretty disappointed in it really it seems like such a fantastic device otherwise.

Mmmm thanks for the comments on the BlueAnt Supertooth 3...
anyone got the BlueAnt Supertooth Light - which I think is virtually the same as 3 - but no Voice announcements (which don't work?)

I was using the STL before I switched to Moto T505. I like the STL over the ST3 because it has the spring loaded mic. I know it's on when it's out, and that it's off when it's in. But it was kinda big so I've switched to the T505. So far I can't tell any difference with either in terms of sound quality, but according to people on the end, the T505 sounds better.
And that's right, the STL doesn't have the voice prompts or address book text to speech features.
