so, if my iphone got lost or stolen..

and as expected we dont get it back, is there any way the theives/finders can go through your iphone contacts, emails, messages etc?..

i currently got password lock everytime i want to access homepage and a phone lock ( everytime a new sim is inserted needs a code ) as well a a sim lock.

my question is i suppose, what happens if a iphone is connected to a random computer, and the new owners decide to press restore , will it restore to factory fresh without creating a backup file?

is there anyway they cant transfer details over to the new computer and bypass the locks ive put in place?

just how secure is our information when the iphone recgonises a new computer...

If you plug the phone into another machine, it will request the passcode before going any further.

This has been my experience in connecting an iPhone 3G up to another Mac.

I was not able to recognise the iPhone until the iPhone was 'awake' (active) and until I entered the Passcode Lock (4 digit), before iTunes would play nice.

It then told me about being linked to another iTunes library, whether this is OK to erase it, etc... but not until I entered my Passcode originally.

Hope that helps you.

Yeah unless they know your 4 digit pass code the iPhone is pretty much useless to them.

Also, what do the phone lock and sim lock do? And how do I activate them?

Cheers.
