Another reason to wait for the 2G 3G.

Just letting everyone know that I got a call from Telechoice to say that my iPhone had been replaced and is back in store. Was there about 5 minutes later and picked up a brand new white 16GB. No cracks, no dead pixels, no defects at all
One very happy customer. Sent it away last Tuesday and got it 1 week later.

just a quick question to see if anyone has had the same issue...

just had my white iPhone replaced (due to the light seeping through the left side) via Apple Support. I was really happy with it until today. i noticed 40 to 50 small (2mm - 4mm) hairline fractures in the white back housing. They occur on all sides where the 'Chome' and white meet, the dock connecter and between the power and sim tray. Has anyone had this happen to them???

I've spoken to apple and am sending it back to them tomorrow, hopefully they replace it again? my only concern is that on the Apple Product replacement request email they State: "Accessory HW Issues - Physical Damage - Cosmetic - scratched". This isnt my fault?!? im calling them now to clarify

Look for the brand Sena, they make one very similar and are available in Aus. I've got a red one and it's softened up really nice!

I'm on the same boat with you. I'd happily go out and exchange it for a new one, but I'm afraid the next one will be the same or even worse - and if I wait it out to see if Apple is going to do anything about it, that they'll say it's physical damage (if the cracks get bigger) and put the fault on me.

I don't understand how other iPhone owners aren't experiencing this, I'm pretty sure if you tried looking really carefully under a strong light, you'll see tiny fractures (they look almost like scratches, but they're not because you can see that it alters the way the light reflects off the surface) near the volume rockers and the headjacks.

My phone has no cracks yet and is over a month old. Has been kept in a silicon case most of its life though. I have looked in strong light and through the lens of a camera.
