Best Way to Avoid iPhone Interference with iMac?

I always seem to get interference sounds through my speakers connected to my iMac when my iPhone is around the system, even when I put my iPhone to sleep.

Anyone have any suggestions to prevent/avoid this from happening, excluding just turning the iPhone completely off?

Thanks.

I'd like to know this too. Also how do I stop that crackling noise coming from my Bose companion 3 speakers when I move the iMac slightly.

you can put your iphone in a can.

its normal radio interference, every phone does it

if you turn your speakers off/lower volume its less audible
you could also insulate your speaker wires, aluminium foil might help

Every GSM cellphone has what is called GSM buzz. A phone running on CDMA would not have this issue. Speakers don't have a lot of shielding for Radio frequencies and unlike CDMA which is almost
consistently on, GSM is more On & off like a 3 year old to a light switch. Your speakers pick up this and transmit an audible buzz.

Gizmodo reports that on 3G (HSDPA) the buzz does not exist in comparison to the Original GSM only iPhone. Are you not using 3G?

I'm using a iPhone 3G at home, however not connected to the 3G cellular network, connected to home wi-fi.

It is very annoying that I receive the interference every 1 minute or so!

By this, do you mean go into the Carrier Settings and select the 3G option of my carrier, or do I stick to the Automatic setting?

Yeah turn it on, see how it goes. As long as you have Wi-Fi on at the same time you should be able to get 3G for your Voice and Wi-Fi for data.
