Optus ... what a pack of $#!?#

I had my iPhone for 2 days, from the 11th to 12th, before taking it back because there was a dead touch strip across the bottom. That was on the 14th. They called me today to say the replacement phone had arrived! So, I went down to collect the new unit only to find it was the SAME one I'd returned and furthermore it hadn't even been fixed! They now reckon it'll be sorted by end of week! Apparently there had been some mixup in paperwork... whatever

I wanna play!

This is the situation for a while and there isn't much anyone can do for a while.

It looks like all they did was wrap it in tissue paper and send it back! Paperwork says there was no proof of purchase included when it was sent back by the local store, but about 2 pages behind that is the proof of purchase - which they've returned!?

No, don't tell me that! I've just had to return mine today for the same issue - to Allphones. They told me that because I've had to return it so soon, it's within the "Replacement Warranty" period, so I'll be really annoyed if I get my old phone back with the same issue!

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine. I hope my experience is the exception rather than the rule.

Not as such, but I think they fully expected me to just take it and walk away.

So ... still waiting Now it's a "couple more days" and I'm promised some kind of "free charger". Beginning to think iPhones don't actually exist.

Hmmm I returned mine to Allphone on Saturday for some dead pixels. They told me to keep the box and that there was nothing to sign for the replacement warranty (they didn't even take a photocopy of my contract, he just wrote down my name).

I rang them this morning and they said yep everythings sorted and it was sent off. I hope I don't get the same unit back claiming no proof of purchase.

Resellers are bullshit. You shouldn't need your proof of purchase. What's the point of having a serial number on every phone if people still have to use proof of purchases?

I can't believe they still can't get their facts straight. It's like they didn't train the staff to handle iPhone inquiries at all.
