so all iphones now unlockable?

so with the release of this pwnage 2.0 being released does this mean:

1st gen iPhones locked to at&t with 2.0 firmware upgrade can now be unlocked & jailbroken?
3G iPhones can be unlocked and jailbroken without getting a code from optus/telstra?

Seen plenty of 1st Gen iphones on ebay US that were still locked but upgraded to 2.0 firmware.

Yep, spot on.

2.5G (original) iphones can be activated, jailbroken, and unlocked without the help of an official carrier.

3G (the new) iphones can be activated and jailbroken without the help of an official carrier, but unlocking of these kind of phones must be done with an official carrier, in australia being optus, vodafone, or telstra.

Or if you wish to unlock 3G right now, without paying the telco, then you have to resort to a hardware SIM-clone/piggy back solution like TurboSIM. Not exactly what people want to do (software unlock is preferred).

...Or get it on contract and have it unlocked for free from the telco after signing your life away.
