Unlocked 3G iPhone - Time from ordered to unlocked

Some people who ordered the unlocking on Friday are still waiting, while some who ordered it only a couple of days ago are now unlocked.

When did you order it and when did you get the SMS from Optus (or are you still waiting)??

I ordered Wednesday afternoon, and I received the SMS this afternoon. Fairly quick turn around. If some people are still waiting after placing the request on Saturday, they should call them again to action it.

The follow up question to this is how can one tell whether the unlock was successful? If I don't have an alternative SIM available, how can I tell?

Mine came through this afternoon. Ordered Monday through Optus.

@ciprol: the only real way is you have to restore and see if the APN settings are available to be edited, as I understand it. Make sure you sync and backup first though.

EDIT: Actually, ciprol, I just unlocked mine and it was only after putting another carrier SIM in (I tried a 3 & Telstra) that you can see the APN edit area appear. When my original Optus SIM is in there it doesn't show up at all.

I suppose the newer ones are making a couple of hundred dollars. Get in quick though, as I think a lot of the impatient people have already bought/bid.
