Is there AppleCare for iPhone 3G?

Hey Guys
I apologize if this has been posted a quick search didn't show me results.

But I was just wondering if there is an AppleCare protection plan for the iPhone 3G?

Thank you
Regards
Matt

There should be but I have not seen it.

I think the carriers are pushing their own warranties now... so maybe APP for iPhone 3G doesn't exist and will not exist.

I bought an iPhone 3G from DSE last weekend and they were pushing their extended warranty on me (I didn't ask for the price). I told them I would be buying APP for iPhone 3G, since it is not an unusual line of thinking - given that iPhone for APP was available (1st gen).

Now, I haven't seen anything on the Apple Store Online or in the shops, so maybe it isn't going to be made available as it is not Apple selling it anymore. The carriers are.

Confirmation would be nice though.

That's iPhone, not iPhone 3G and that news post is from last year. It may not work for iPhone 3G.

I knew about iPhone APP being available and made a point to say 1st gen, not 3G (2nd gen).

This really sucks. I'm surprised there isn't anything available yet!

When you go to the US Apple iPhone 3G site, there is a section devoted to AppleCare for the iPhone, and there is nothing to say that it will not be valid for the iPhone 3G (but then again, they haven't mentioned it in the current documentation, which probably means it won't be covered...). Just odd that they would put it on the 3G site and not offer it.

Incidentally....
What if you buy an iPhone from eBay? Usually you can check a purchase and warranty validity date by looking at the serial number of the product, but will Apple still look at it without the original receipt? (Even though the product is obviously still in warranty since it is less than 12 months since the official release?).
