It's about 2mm from the end of the progress bar in "Restoring iPhone from Backup"
I have my 3 SIM card in.
I reckon about 5 mins and it'll be up if I cancel the Sync.

All i can say is congrats to you guys... im still waiting for my unlock msg.... i've found if i leave the phone in a certain position on the window sill i get 2 bars of service lol... so any hour now *fingers crossed*

I'm wondering if the Optus reference number I was given was the number of unlock requests they'd had. If so, i was in the low 300's. Still waiting for my message. Damn lack of patience

Thanks buddy, they are great.
Summary: A 3 USIM *will* work in an unlocked iPhone and thanks to tryandbyte, has shown pics of both direct net access, and the Planet 3 portal.
tryandbyte: I Assume you were unlocked from Optus?
Comment: It's pretty interesting how poorly formatted the 3 Portal appears in Safari. Three need to get some UserAgent detection going and format the portal for iPhone.

Just take a shot of your settings of where you can enter the APN and have it as 3 settings.
Too many sceptics here.
Just out of curiousity, do you think you can stick your original SIM to see if that works?
