Yeh! folks on 3 now (after unlocking), please check your desktop folder:
- (Windows) C:\Documents and Settings\[Insert your Username here]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Carrier Support
- (Mac OSX) something similar to above for windows, dunno for sure.
and then please tell us all here how & what your iPhones working on 3 are using to provide the 3 carrier info settings, eg. in the status bar at the top of the screen.
To see all the international carrier bundle files (in an xml document), that are available publically, go to:
http://phobos.apple.com/version
eg. search for "au" and it will get you to telstra_au, optus_au - but strangely there's no vodafone_au in there, i dunno why!?

Yeah!
Unlock with TurboSIM released and Activation/Jailbreak of 3G released! Within the same day!
Now that I can Activate and Jailbreak (have to use my son's MacBook) and SIM Unlock with my TurboSIM - I am trying to get a 'cheap' 3G iPhone out of the states.
It seems that more and more 3G iPhones are getting 'out there' on the free market - either through staff at Apple and AT&T stores, or by canceling the AT&T contract after a short time.
iPhone cost of US$199 or US$299, plus activation US$30, plus US$175 - and some are reporting they weren't made to pay the US$175 and/or the first month of the contract. Seems to depend just when they cancel and where they got the phone (AT&T or Apple store). See hackint0sh for details.
I am checking feeBay for any bargains (none as yet), and asking my contacts in the USA if they would buy and then cancel for me.
Luckily I have a TurboSIM that I can blank out and re-program with the new software - see the BLADOX - Home forums if you need the program.
Cheers!

Thanks for the link.
So, when "Hutchison_au" is on that page then we'll know a Three iPhone is definitely on the way... like I was told yesterday by a Three operator.

Stocks of prepaid iPhones are very very hard to come by at the moment. If you want prepaid, you just have to wait. Places are only filling orders for contract stock at the moment.

I think people are becoming overly obsessed trying to get a pre paid phone.
If you go on the Optus $19 cap over 24 months, the phone costs $26 so the total over 24 months is $1060-just a bit more than buyng outright but you are spreading the cost over 2 years and still have some credit for calls.
THEN you can unlock your phone, still keep the optus plan as you are paying off the phone over 2 years rather than pay it off in one go, and stick your Three or even Virgin Sim in it.
The X series data plans are so flexible you can change month by month and there is no fixed term.If you ned 2Gig one month its $40 then next month you may want 500Mb which will cost you $20.
AND you can swap your sim and still use your optus plan if you want to.
I am going to do this. and you can get your phone quite quickly -Prepaid iphones in general stock could be months away.

cheaper way to do it ... which im doing it already
$19 plan (not cap) for 12 months
each month $59 for iphone 16GB
therefore whole year $936 (free to unlock coz on plan)
16GB pre-paid ($849 + $80"to unlock") = $929
in conclusion 7 dollars more!

Where did you buy it from?
Who did you buy it from?
Has it been restored in iTunes since the unlock?
