Has anyone has this work with Optus Prepaid or are we just assuming it will work with Pre the same as Post?

I bought a 16GB Black at T-Life Melbourne City yesterday afternoon and rang up Telstra around 4:30pm to request and pay for it to be unlocked. All fine so far.

Today I had a call from a nice lady at Telstra customer service.
She apologised for the delay and said that they were waiting for the 'codes from Apple' before they could process the unlock and that it may take longer than the original 72 hours promised.

So I don't know if anyone has been unlocked on Telstra or not but it seems like there is some delay at the moment that may (or may not) be affecting all Telstra customers.

grrr
for $150 - I damn well better get my unlock within the week.
I have what is basically a $1000 iPod Touch here sitting next to my 3 SIM card at the moment.

i got the unlock message twice around 12 midday. i tried to sync it a few times but it did not unlock it. Then i took the plunge and restored it. I was worried because i already restored it after i bought it to the newer 2.0 that it wouldn't unlock it but it DID!
So it seems that if you want to unlock your handset after you get the message you must restore the handset.

I'm happily seeing a nice '3' where the shitty 'Optus' was before (Optus 3G Coverage in adelaide is woeful compared to 3). Now to sent up the APN's and i'm away. Hopefully 3 will build a iphone optimized version of Planet 3.... hmmm might have to contact a few people tomorrow

Weirdly, since the unlock my operator logo is in title case (i.e Optus instead of OPTUS). I don't mind really but others might.

edit: still no bloody push!

So i';m assuming those who plan on using it on 3 like me will bolt-on a data package, so you can access outside the crap Planet3. What value plans you thinking of using?

i dont see the point of unlocking iphone for 3 (if you have pre-paid) as you cant access the (real)net anyway.

you need a plan to do it (aka x-series plans)

Nope. Not yet. I'm not stressed about it yet. I'm going OS soon, but I'm not even sure I'll use the phone for much whilst away (and we're going to too many countries to get pre-paid cards for each of them!).

i've got the 2gb xseries on my account, heard some whispers that the xseries plans are going to get revamped pretty soon, so hopefully more data + cheaper prices = A Happy iPhone Customer!
