I've used 242MB out of the 700MB in my Optus $59 plan. I use wifi at home but 3g everywhere else. I consider myself a heavy user so I am very surprised by this low number.

You get 700mb with that $59 cap??

MacVik it's 500MB on the 59 make sure you don't go over that limit

maybe this is my cynical side... but optus knew thrugh their testing just how little data iphone users would use, and so gave us a fair bit of extra breathing room to make themselves look good, and expect some users to tether some of their data for a bit of use here and there.

The $59 Yes Plan has 700MB, the Cap has 500MB. He must be on the Yes Plan.

PS: I'm just under 260MB since the 12th (I got it on the 11th but don't count it since the phone didn't activate until night, and I was on WiFi then). Seems like the 500MB plan was perfect, as it gives me plenty of breathing room for times when I won't have as much WiFi as I do now.

So far since having the phone for nearly 3 weeks I've used 58mb of my 250mb limit.

Ok so I have my first bill and it is
240 Calls Total Volume: 221 MB $70.39

But raw usage is over 270MB I have some wifi as well I am on the $49 Cap plan and was using 3G every day mostly to show off the phone bloody you tube and the I'm a pilot video!!!!

From experience, how easy is it to chew through 100MB each month? mayken says he's only used 58MB over three weeks, so light use of the internet shouldn't use up all of the data, right? Im asking this as this is the only plan I could afford ($19), if I get the iPhone 3G.

heh yeah 420 of 500 for me. Quota resets on the 4th, though.

i have 1gb a month on 3 and i am barely scratching 160mb lol
and i've been using since july 11th (virtually)

I'm on an Optus timeless plan with 1GB data, in the first month I used 257MB and I use it everyday for work emails some browsing etc. I was shocked at how little it actually used.
