You can call 1300 300 562 which will put you straight through to deliveries. There are really long wait times though, I have been on hold waiting to get through for over 40 minutes.

Just picked up my black 16gb from OW darwin... RC'd on 21st so all in all not a bad waiting time...

Yes, the courier firms are useless without a consignment number. They tried searching for my order by name, address, postcode, blood type, but couldn't find any record.

I called optus, got the consignment number, called back the courier and they found it straight away, should be here in the next few hours

Try calling Optus on 1300 133 731 which is their sales number, rather than 1300 300 562 which is their support number - the support number seems to leave you in the queue for hours on end.

Well, today makes it officially a two week wait from when i ordered it on the 18th - a 16GB white from the Chadstone OW.
Here's hoping there won't be a third week.

Also... last night, my friend said her boyfriend was buying an iPhone from JB (with Optus) and that he was going to be able to pick it up tomorrow??
I said, "Hang on - i've been waiting for TWO WEEKS?? What's this about JB Hi-Fi selling iPhones??"
Firstly... since when did JB start selling phone contracts, and secondly... WHAT?

JB will be selling the iPhone (although they don't have them yet as far as I know). But they'll only sell them with Telstra, not Optus. Your friend, or her boyfriend is confused...

Woo hoo. Ordered 16Gb black on a $79 cap plan through optus phone sales on 15th July. Just been delivered!

Can anyone Please provide an update on current situation with the Optus Store in Collins/Elliz Street?

Just informed Watergardens I'm cancelling my contract come Wednesday of next week if they have no stock still. Store Manager got an email this morning saying that other stores in their area now have stock arriving so he is expecting some Monday but has no idea really and is just guessing. I would have cancelled it today and ordered one with Virgin but they are already sold out of 16GB black.

I can only give an update on the Elizabeth 253 OWS.
Have an RC on 16 gig Black from 18th of July.

Called them on wednesday - they told me it will be in this week.
Called them just now - they told me it will be in next week and told me to wait for the call.

They wouldnt tell me how far down the list on 16 gig Black they are, but last friday (a week ago) they were giving out 14th of July rainchecks, and yesterday they did a 22nd of July raincheck on a White (grats to Manooka), which should mean that they received some stock, so... ha-ha. Oh well, it hasnt been 3 weeks for me yet.

Well, I just got the call. Rainchecked with Optus Strathfield in the Brisbane Myer Centre on the 14th. Black 16GB. So maybe this August 1st talk is really true, huh?
I've been keeping an eye on this board for a long while, and I'll keep doing so for the next few days. But cheers to everyone who posted with their info. Keep it up dudes. Good luck!

After being told that I would receive mine today via Toll Priority I called to confirm my delivery time and consignment number (skip forward 3 call centre staff) I now know the following:

***Take this with some rationality as I know that others have been receiving their orders when placed before mine (18th)***

The manager pulled up my record and we confirmed all the details. He then called up the stock levels for Optus and read them out to me. 0 black 16G. He then called the warehouse that takes delivery from Apple, this is where they enter the phones into their database so they can allocate stock to other stores when they are received from Apple, after this the phones go to Toll for delivery by air or overnight freight. The warehouse checked their records and confirmed a shipment of 16G black for 11 September and due for customer delivery on 12 September!

As I side note he said that its better giving me an exact date and that customers are getting really frustrated by being told "next week" etc. I hope this realism filters down to everyone waiting.

The manager said that this was certainly BAD NEWS and encouraged me to take a white or 8G alternative. He also said that they have been instructed to stop taking phone orders for the 16s because they cannot realistically inform customers of expected delivery times until the existing orders are processed first.

I then called up My Mac in Flinders St to confirm this as they have direct connections to the Apple distribution centre that supplies the region. They confirmed shipments over the next two weeks for the 8G's and the whites but the 16G blacks are "hot property". He confirmed the 11 September shipment date.

Taking all this in I am happy to wait for another month as I have been waiting anyway and I haven't yet received a bill.

What do you think of the above? Does it sound realistic?

Wow, sucks to be wanting a Black 16GB. I don't know why people would want it, my first choice was and always has been a white 16GB.

Hi Mikeer - I just called the same store now and they told me that I was #8 in the queue for a 16Gb black. He also said that they recieved 10 black 16s units about 4 days ago and that they had no idea when the next batch will arrive.

When I asked if I could change my order to white he said it cant be done. Dammit!

Three weeks tomorrow I'll have been waiting for my 16GB White prepaid from Belmont OW...sigh.

At strathfield here in Brisb CBD i saw the sign saying.."We have iphone 3g." and yeap they sure do..
maybe their shipment just came?!!
