So I just got a call from the Glen Waverley Optus store, the guy was having trouble finding my account. This was good news as it means they are processing the contracts, but bad news for me because I am an existing customer under my wife's name. So I have to go there tomorrow night (they are open until 7pm) and get her to sign something before they can fully process my contract.
I asked him when they were getting more stock, he couldn't give me a definite response other than to tell me that the number of iPhones they got in depended on the number of contracts they processed. So it was in my best interest to get my contract processed asap!

Has anyone got a 16 GB pre-paid with Optus yet? I rainchecked with Optus World Norwood SA on Friday. I'm number 3 on the list. I just called them and they said they got 8 GB in today, but no sign of 16 GB or any pre-paid ones. I just wish they'd hurry the fuck up.

I haven't heard of anyone else rainchecking them at OptusWorld Richmond (on this forum) so I have this stupid fear that it's some forgotton store that won't be getting any stock! lol. What's with all these Allphones and resellers getting them dammit! I'll be jumping up and down if I get a call tomorrow or even within this week.

I just called Optus in Garden City, Perth and when I asked if my 16gb came in he asked my name, which colour I wanted and a few other details, then said no they had no stock and it wouldn't come in until next week.
Seemed a little suss for him to ask me those questions, and then say there was no stock. So I asked him if they had received stock, but perhaps I just wasnt high enough on the list (I was told I'm roughly #10) and he said no, only the 8gb's had come in and the 16s wouldn't arrive till early next week
Who knows what's going on. He was very clear though to tell me they would call me when it was ready and I didnt need to call and check  |

This is beginning to shit me. Damn you Optus. How come T-Life can get it together. If I wasn't planning to use a $59 cap on Optus for 12 months and pay ~$500 for the privilege I would probably just pay double that for the unlocked ex-Telstra one. Grrr.

I rainchecked on Sunday, and was told that the phone would arrive on my door step on Monday the 21st.... Rang optus today for them to tell me that it is now being delivered on the 25th grrr....

I only think T-life have because they haven't had the demand that Optus has had...it would be a logistic nightmare!

I rainchecked with Optus today, the guy i dealt with was really pretty good after being told horror stories about optus employees. I asked him if he had any idea when they'd get stock and he was really upfront about having very little idea, basically i'd know when he did. I appreciated the honesty, also he said that he is being sent shipments for each days orders, he is expecting fridays orders to arrive this week.
I am in Orange so everything tends to take a couple of days to arrive here when it really shouldn't, so i'm not expecting mine anytime soon.

My rainchecked black 16G from the Shepparton Optus World came in today. I got the call at 5.15pm and made it in to collect before they shut at 5.30pm.
Another bloke who also took a raincheck at the same time I did when the store first opened on Friday at 7am, also got the same call to collect his. Two happy customers here anyway!

That would have been a cool idea...rainchecks from Thursday the week before to maybe Wed get ordered and delivered Friday of that week...then everyone knows their timeframe...it's so EASY! :P
