But i have to wait until the end of the DAY!! I have a class so my dad's doing me a huge favour by picking it up for me... i'll have it TONIGHT!! I'm not going to sleep at ALL tonight... i'm dying with excitement. DYING.

White 16GB ordered from Chadstone OW on the 18th of July.
Got the call today, the 7th of August.
I can't believe it's finally here... i feel like Tom Hanks when he got rescued from the desert island...

It would definitely seem the OW stores are finally receiving substantial stock to clear the backorders. Hopefully everyone gets their rainchecked phone soon.

I just walked in to my local optus world and walked out with a 16gb black iphone!! I wasn't on a list lol.
They only had one left so I am extremely happy

Hi dude. There's a great asian guy there who's really helpful and also a woman on the phone with an aussie accent who was great too. The two times I've been in however there has been this Indian dude there who has had REALLY bad B.O. both times! Stay AWAY from him (and I'm not being racist, my best friends are all Indian!)
BTW me and Mikeer RC'd 18 July and received yesterday.

Macmelly, have a look at my previous post #1391. Best bet would be to head to a store that you know have stock and cancel your RC. |

Thanks MrJim...I guess it doesn't look good for me. How do I cancel though? I agreed to a contract on the phone?

18 days ! phew...
Got the call today (Thur 7 Aug) having rainchecked a 16GB Black on 20 Jul on the $19 Cap plan, at Morayfield OW. They were in such a rush to hand them out they couldn't give me a 'proof of purchase'. They entered some stuff into one system and photocopied the back of the box (ser. no. etc) and told me to come back in a day or two for the receipt.
Most importantly, I got the Account Number from them so I can get into the web site.
Can't say I'm happy about paying more than half a month... but I'm happier than a lot of others. Hang in there (and yes I got sick of people telling me that, too!!). I'd phoned the store the previous day and got the "we'll call you when it comes in" speech. I'm pretty busy at the moment, so I forgot about it, hoping they didn't call on the weekend when I wouldn't be able to drop in....
Checked it out for cracks - none that I could see even with magnifying glass. That's more due to not being able to see anything on the colour, though. Apple's had problems with colours before - slightly different composition to get the colour (I think it was white plastic) and the plastic failed... check the Cracks thread to see how it pans out with use.
Optus said they wouldn't replace a cracking device unless I'd bought their insurance. Any thoughts/experiences with this? They 'say' a lot of things, which as we all know...
No, they wouldn't organise a refund for the unused Data plan with Customer Service for me as Customer Service advised me they would.
No, they couldn't tell me anything about the free internet for the first month - when it starts/finishes.
Phone is excellent - took a while to get it to find the secure wi-fi at home, though.
Good luck everybody. I'll be reporting on my efforts with Customer Service on the 2 issues above.
And maybe how the Bodyguardz goes as a protective film (been sitting in the draw for a week, just waiting...)

Start by calling customer care...they'll then pass you through to retentions...and then finally the people who can cancel.
