Apparently when I first ordered the iphone, they said i was 240 on the list on July 14th. So i don't know how many have recieved theirs since then but i'm not too optimistic that I will be getting mine anytime soon, but I will still call today and annoy them.

I received my RC'd Iphone (16GB Black) on 2nd of Aug last saturday, and I see in this forum that there are alot of questions but not enough answer, so I am posting this see if I can provide some peace to your minds.

Now, for those who asked about those stocks that arrived on 1st of Aug for RCs b4 16th of Jul were based upon my assumption, I assure you that IT WAS NOT A GUESS. I actually looked into the "Magic List" which I saw on the day I received my phone. Therefore, it would probably be for your best interest to just pay them a visit even if you didn't get your call. On collins street store, there is only one staff who is in charge of Iphone (also making this phonecall) so it will take some time for you to actually get one, while there is a stock waiting just for you to come and pickup.

Furthermore, there are 2 more informations that I want to point out before you actually go there.

1. If you are thinking about to pay a visit to Collins store for RC on Iphone, you want to avoid certain people in that store who would likely to just bounce you off. Now my personal experience is inflicting a rather contemptuous behaviour from this guy "Sam", who gives rats ass as to giving any insight on what goes in&out on that store. Now, the reason why I am pointing this out is because I had chance to speak to two different staffs on same occasion where the pair provided COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANSWERS: One (which I put annonymous as a request) being very pleasant and descriptive where the other, not so much.
Because of this, I no longer pity their situation. I mean think, their behaviour was not driven from how they were trained or due to difficulties of current situation, but entirely based upon individual's character and their lack of willingness to provide good customer services.
Just to keep in mind though that not all of them are dicks out there...

2. As exciting as getting a call and receiving your Iphones, bare in mind to test out everything in the store (speakers, microphones, cracks on the shell, Sync Itune, etc) before taking back home. Yes there are alot of faulty ones out there, including mine, that will require a replacement and if you find this at home, you will have to wait another week or two to receive the replacement phone.
However, if things were done and found by a optus staff before you ever even having to touch it, they will replace you with different brick IMMEDIATELY. Now consider all that horrible time waiting for those phone calls and having to put up with those guys again...I STRONGLY RECOMMEND not to touch your phone unless you are absolutely clear that your precious Iphone is fully functional.

It's been about three weeks.
I've been trying to call them today, but no luck - no one answers, or it's engaged.
I'm starting to get comfortable not having an iPhone. This really concerns me!

i was a bit dirty that i havent got a call
so i rang up to ask what was going on ....
and they said that i was number 15 on the list @ OW Collins / Eliz st ....

Does anyone have any clue on how long that wait will be ...
I keep getting empty promises about more coming in this week
but is this just to keep my hopes high ...

by the way ... i found troy the best bloke to speak to at that joint! ... was extremely helpful, as apposed to half the other nuff nuffs there

Ordered my iPhone 16GB Black from Network Communications in Taree on the 15th of July, signed up contracts etc. Still no commitment from them at all as to when it is coming. Offered me an 8GB on Friday, but do not want that, but still could not give me any idea of when???
Emailed Network Communications Head Office, or i think that's where it went, but no response from them either!
I don't know what to do next???

That sucks. I guess I shall wait and still decide between white or black. Hmm

i ordered on the 13th, early morning. and got a 16gb black. overheard the guy telling someone who enquired about them it will be a 6 week wait. so urs should be very soon, fingers crossed.

My story.

I got to the Optus store in elsternwick about an hour and a half before it opened (6:30) on the 11th of July. By about 830 we had figured out that if you didnt have a deposit you wernt getting one, but still had to wait to be put on "the list" after 3 hours of waiting in the cold i got my name down. wonderful.

They called me later that day to say they were ready to take down my plan details. I said awesome. I went in on the 13th July to do the plan. didnt have medicare card so had to come back on the 14th july.

It's now the 6th of August, still nothing. I was told 3 days on the 11th, then a MAXIMUM of 10 days on the 14th. every week i call. every week its "the end of next week". every week nothing.

Called today, SOme lady said i'm still at the bottom of the list. im like wtf, how can that happen she said theres lots of people waiting, and all the stuff we've all heard before. I asked for specifics and she said about 80 infront of me.

Now, I was there on the opening with about 100 people infront of me 50 of whom (atleast) had deposits that mean there was a max of 50 other people ahead of me. now almost a month later there's 80????

i dont get it. Optus fucked up with organising shit on the day by making us wait for hours to get our names on a superalous list. I have no phone at the moment and im still paying my '3' bills.

yeah i know how u feel, i queued up at 6, got in the store at about 8.30 and put my name on the list for no reason. then when i went back in my lunch break ,was told the best and quickest way to get one was to not RC and just call back every day to check if they got them in, was told 2 - 9 days. but then decided to rc on the 13th and have called numerous times and had the run around.

i was about to cancel and try and get a white one from mymac earlier this week, as i was told it would be 3 weeks last weekend (which was no good cos im going o/s in less than 2 weeks), but when i called OW elsternwick on monday and then tuesday they said they'd gotten some in and were waiting on paperwork from optus and i would hear from them within one or 2 days. then had a missed call this morning and rung them back, they said it was in, got dressed in 2mins and was down there in 5, took about 5 mins once in the store. no-one else was there getting an iphone, but hopefully for u guys its not far off.

haha sorry bout that but u should be next in line, keep calling them.
