Well over the weekend I got an iphone on Telstra which I thought was probably the worst idea in the world but after today I am very glad - it was the only bloody thing working! I'm on three and that didn't work, iinet for internet and that didn't work, no phone, no email, no internet - thank god for the iphone and telstra and believe me you won;t catch me praising telstra very often!!!

sorry to hear this guys, but hey lets just say that they re making the optus 3G network better

this gave me a nice laugh:
I work in a banking call centre where I usually have abusive obnoxious people all day," they said.

"Today is silence. Live it up!"

Yep, back here too, in Woodridge/Logan.

I had a complete communications blackout... Optusnet Cable... Optus landline... Optus mobile... Did manage to get a call out on the landline a few hours ago, but just 1 - otherwise it would tell me the number was not connected.

Indeed, take away our communications and we're all like startled rabbits waiting for the roadtrain...

Everything I thought about doing... playing Mario Kart... checking movie times... investigating cat collar elastic safety devices... looking on Seek... all no good. (Just played Mario Kart for an hour to unlock some more levels/cars... )

Erm, for the 3 hours in total I've been down since 2003, I'll stay away from Telstra. Thanks. God forbid no-one digs up a Tel$tra cable anytime soon.

Bit silly to blame Optus if a third party contractor cut their fiber link. COuld happen to any telco.
