Exclamation Bigpond Portal not working (Outright + Telstra Cap Plan)

Just got myself a sealed unit from Telstra, put in my sim(im on my own Telstra cap plan) and plugged it into iTunes @ home followed all on screen things and all is A-OK. Its just the bigpond portal is not loading. BigPond. WAP itself is working fine as google.com etc is loading.....but the portal isnt for some reason(which is for free browsing).

The portal also works in WIFI, but just hangs tho when i try using WAP access.

Is this because i didnt put a BLANK sim card in and then plug it into itunes(which is the process that Telstra stores are doing to unbrick them)???

I might restore the phone, take it back to the shop, unbrick it with a non active SIM, then put myne in and hopefully it may work.

Has anyone had any luck who is with Telstra and accessing the Bigpond WAP portal ?

Curious, how'd you get it out of the store without them activating it? Seems like this supposed mandatory step is being missed in a lot of cases

What is your apn set us under Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data network? Mine is telstra.internet as per this post, and username/password is guest/guest. It was originally "telstra.iph" which i'm sure is what it's meant to be, that didn't work for me at all, and the username/pw were blank in that case (maybe i need some supplied username/password that Telstra were meant to give me but didn't cause i bought it outright?)

Sorry to go on so much If any one who HAS got the bigpond portal working can confirm how or what they did , or what their apn settings are, i'm sure it would be helpful.

myne is also telstra.internet

guest/guest is not neccassary i believe. I just cant understand why its not loading bigpond wap site. Makes no sense at all, as WAP is clearly working but it just cant access the site.

Exclamation

did they unbrick it at the shop for you when you bought outight? or did you get it from optus? OR was it sealed?

update: ive just restored it, going to tshop now to put in blank sim and unbrick that way as thats the procedure for Tshops. i dont think this will work, but i wanna eliminate the BS reason that you cant put a active sim in.

unbricked and the Tlife store. they put a special sim in, then synced with itunes. then i put my sim in and it worked fine, except for this problem but i didn't find this out til after i left. But at that point half their systems were down apparently so they may not have been able to do anything about it anyway.

I bought my iPhone from Telstra, and they unbricked it, activated it, and put a new SIM in it on Friday.

I can get to most of the bigpond portal - but not the Data Usage?
Comes up with a forbidden webpage error?!?!?!

Anyone else getting this?
Checking my data usage throughout the month I think will be CRITICAL for me given the prices we are paying, and huges excess data charges!
