I really hope you're joking
Everyone will have their own little 2c on the iPhone and "Oh how terrible it is that it doesn't have <this>... If only it had <this> it would be the best product ever..."
I personally believe that whilst Apple can be very harsh on what features they do and don't include, it isn't something that is decided as a spare of the moment thing. They're trying to define the mobile phone, and at this rate they're doing a pretty damn good job of it. Of course there are going to be things missing that you'd see in your typical nokia - They aren't trying to do the same thing again, they're building a whole new platform.

Exactly, Jazz. This is more of a lifestyle device.
New features will be added as we go... probably at a cost.

Things that bug you about your iPhone
Ok so many of us have had our iPhones 24+ hours now.
And you have possibly discovered things you dont like about it.
These are not the documented things like No Video, copy and paste and MMS.
But things that are less well known or completely undocumented.
As I mentioned in the other thread.. my biggest shock and grievance comes with exchanging contact data. ie there is no built in way...
anything to add to this list.

Negatives:
- FW 2.0 definitely wasn't ready in time for launch. Applications refuses to launch and crashes back to the homescreen or sometimes forces a lengthy reboot. Loading my contacts is slow. The slow backup issue is a nuisance.
- GPS rarely works, even when outside - just spins the indicator forever, not even giving me an approximate location. I got the approximate location ONCE inside with WiFi turned off. Thuly any location based app is useless. Very strange.
- The weather icon puzzles me. Why is it a static icon showing 73°? That would melt my face off! I had units on Celsius, but the restore restored the old icon. Fixed by opening and closing the app. Wish this icon was dynamic like the calendar one instead of showing the wrong weather with archaic measurements used only in a single of the iPhone markets.
- Facebook app does not have wall postings.
- Tuner app times out on the radio station stream that I bought it for - even though the format is supported (128 MP3) and it works fine on the computer.
- Form entry in Safari has some strange quirks, sometimes jumping randomly around the page for each character entered
- Password entry is an exercise in frustration.
- Most free apps are useless or redundant - how many to do/shopping lists do you need. How many Hello World/programming 101 apps do we need to see on there? And don't get me started on the "flashlights"
- eBooks need to be a separate category in the App Store
- There's been one or two instances I've wished for cut and paste

- Change from F to C by flipping the location
- Use the Web App instead of the application

I don't understand why people are making a parody of those who think the iPhone is missing features, I don't think there have been many, if any ridiculous requests in this topic.
How can you justify Apple listing "Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR" in the tech specs of the iPhone, yet it does almost nothing?

That does not change the icon. Wow. Odd. I swear it showed 73° a minute ago. Must have changed when I synced it.
iPhone can have dynamically updated icons, weather would be a perfect opportunity.

I have both the Web App and the application - I want to get rid of this redundancy. I hope the FB app reaches parity with the Web App sooner rather than later.

After having used the first gen iPhone for around a year I must say the fact the screen no longer goes all the way to the metal edge anymore is really pissing me off. Trivial? Yes. But Liked the fact the width of the screen appeared to be all the face on the original. Also, I have seen many more crashed on this than I have with my jailbroken one. "Settings" often refuses to load and hangs there requiring a total button-reboot of the phone.
MMS? Don't care as I never used it. Video? Buy a video camera if I want video.
I'm also a little annoyed there's no 'save password' option for the App Store. I have a difficult password set for my ITMS Account and I hate having to enter it every time I want a free app unlike erik, I've had no problem with GPS. Works brilliantly even from my lounge here with limited visibility to the sky.
Big requests? Cut and paste. Also the upcoming *supposedly* turn-by-turn navigation from TomTom. I've always liked their interface better than most
Oh, and battery life blows. I left push email on overnight and ended up draining my battery to almost nill. I got my phone friday afternoon and it's already been totally flat twice. That's pretty poor considering i'm not using it a huge amount. Hopefully i'll tweak that to be happier.
Loving the 3G data speed though and my large cap

This topic is probably the same as 'iPhone deficiencies', but still.
* Safari crashes
* Can't open links in new pages
* Can't view podcast descriptions

I hate that you can't forward a text that you have just sent to someone else, you have to re-type the whole thing. Also I can't figure out how to delete a contact from a text before I send it (but maybe that is me being stupid)

I know! Safari especially is very annoying. Nothing worse than typing a 10 line MacTalk post only to have Safari crash just as you are about to hit Submit Reply lol.
My pet peeve however, is the fact that I can't customise SMS tones and ring tones are wayyyyyy too quiet. As I am sure many people have understood by now as I mention this in just about every thread I post in.

No SMS character counter - how long would this take Apple to implement? 10 seconds? 20?

Most of the issues people raise about safari are the same I experienced on my iPod touch, so I've adapted to them
But, I wish the on/off button protruded a little more so it was easier to find.
