Anyone need to restart the phone every now and then?
I'm finding that every now and then the phone refuses to do anything (data related) safari gets painfully slow, checking emails takes forever, can't even make phone calls...
I have to turn it off and on again and it works fine.
It's nothing to do with phone reception (even happens on wi-fi)
Trying to work out what it is?
I have about 7 or 8 apps, I'm thinking one of them maybe has problems with memory leak?
I've had to restart twice today, so it's getting worse.
I've deleted a few unnecessary apps, i'll see if that makes a difference.
Anyone else getting this? any thoughts?

has anyone else had issues with syncing..?
over the past two days i have had to do a complete restore of my phone 4 times, due to an error popping up in itunes stating that:
a)the phone has an unknown error and cannot be synced with
and the one that has popped up today
b) the iphone disk cannot be read or written to.
everything else has worked really well...
in terms of battery life ive found that if everytime im not using it, or if im just listening to the ipod, if that i put it to sleep, this seems to conserve alot of power.

It may be a sim error. Eject the sim with your handy on-person sim removal tool and try a nice clean and reinsertion.

the default pin on your new sim is 0000 until you reset / lock it yourself

What is the procedure for swapping handsets if you are not satisfied with the build quality of the phone?
I love my iPhone and cannot go back to any other phone but am quite unimpressed with the build quality of my current one. The case doesn't line up at the bottom, several cracks have appeared on the top of the phone (around the headphone jack and power switch) and one stuck pixel. I don't necessarily want to ditch my current plan as I am happy with it, but want a replacement phone.
Do you get a courtesy handset while you are waiting for a new handset? I have read in another thread that it can take up to a week or even more for a new handset to be supplied. I dont want to be without my phone for too long, but do not want to leave these issues too long in case Optus try to tell me I've dropped my phone or it is user neglect.

I've only had to restart twice since July 11. Once when photos just stopped mid "swipe". And the other time because it seemed to have lost all connection with 3G. Not even displaying EDGE. So restarted it, and had full 3G coverage.
I have noticed that YouTube isn't slow on 3G - actually, I was quite surprised how quick it was!!! So my first time on YouTube on wifi has marred my experience.

I had this problem today no incoming or outgoing calls, no SMS, no internet. I called Optus in case there was some network problem - there wasn't. I spoke with an Optus iPhone tech person, who told me to try turning airplane mode on for 10 seconds, then off again. it worked - the iPhone was back to normal, making and receiving calls.
No explanation - just seems to be a bug.

you know how the mail and sms icons have a little number in the top right hand corner when you have new messages, is there anyway to get the calendar icon to do that as well if you have any events for the day? that would be fairly awesome.
