One thing i've noticed which hasn't been brought up....
If I'm listening to something on the iPod section, if an alarm or call comes through, instead of fading down quietly to make way for the alarm sound or ringtone, there's a "whoosh"/"rushing" sound that is quite loud and causes me to take the headphones off (using Bose inner ear ones).
I'm submitting this to Apple....however it's fine when you clear the call/alarm, the music on the iPod fades back in nicely.
*** SLIGHT EDIT : Have tried with the Apple 'phones and the Bose ones where i had the issue - it's not as pronounced today, but it still "clicks" a bit when a call comes by or alarm goes off.

My biggest disappointment is no offline maps storage. This just makes no sense.

So you would like the maps, to be stored on the 8/16gb of space you use for songs, videos and apps?

Actually I noticed this on my iPhone, as well as my iPod Touch, that occasioanlly it'd freeze, and when turning it back on, it just sits at the apple logo at the start.. I sometimes wait a minute, or 2.. nothing... Only fix I Was able to find was to boot it into recovery mode, and start allover again...
This is pretty inappropriate for a phone in my opinion!!!

Interestingly enough, my phone shows "NO COVERAGE" quite often but still manages to surf the net on safari at 3g speeds? odd.

I agree with the maps vein on the system. My nokia 6110 navigator managed ok. Pretty sure it was less than 128mb.
I'm getting serious lag when texting. All other typing is ok but SMS lags something chronic. Anyone else get this on theirs?
I saw a topic on contact list lag which I also get, but only when I first open it. After that contacts is ok but SMS is always slow as...
Any tips or thoughts?

Something that I thought of in the last day or two: a tiny status light. Mabye something similar to the light next to the iSight camera on the current iMacs. Green for unread message, Yellow for New Email, Red for Missed call etc...
Damn I'd love that.

I find it annoying that in Mail there is no way to mark several messages as read, particularly if they are facebook emails.

For sure. I only need a gig for music, my iPod Nano's proven that to me. Video would take up maybe 2 gig (I'm not gonna have more than one ripped DVD at a time in my iTunes library, let alone my 'Pod or 'Touch) so that's 3 gig... now if I could cache 200MB of maps that leaves at least 4 gig for Base Software, Apps and Mail (from what I hear). That setup would do me fine on an 8 gig model. If I had 16 gig I'd just double all those numbers... except for the caching of maps, I'd just add another 200MB of photos or something.

I got this odd issue, where if my phone has been sitting idle for some period of time, and I pick it up and look at the display, it has vertical black streaks/bars down the display, you need to look pretty closely. It's usually just a completely black/dark screen, but this is odd.. see if you spot it...
