My bet would be to ring optus. Sound like you have locked the sim card. Only your network can give you the code.

I had this problem with the iPod Touch last year I ended up taking three back and just giving up I asked the retailer if it was a common problem but they said I was the only one to bring one back for this reason so I don't know if it was just me being too picky or that other people just don't check for these things... each one had at least 4 stuck pixels.

My issues after 5 days using:

- Contacts are slow to load with pauses where the phone does nothing;
- intermittent problem with phone not flipping between landscape and portrait when turned;
- when setting a calendar item or alarm, the minute rotary scroll is intermittently unresponsive

What I Don't like:

- Would like a setting that prevents the screen from blanking and needing to be unlocked - nice to see that stopwatch mode stops this from happening (why not timer mode too?)
- Should be able to add an email address directly to a contact
- right and left buttons on keyboard to make minor corrections to text rather than having to delete to where the mistake is- yes I do care about sms English;
- Would like to put a icon on the home page that toggles wifi and/or 3G off - app anyone?
- landscape SMS and email modes please
- copy/paste - too many times I have felt like I would like this, but I appreciate in a touch device like this it is hard. I think it will need a complete rewrite of the text writing engine, one that supports touch cursor entry. I heard a suggestion to use a gesture to copy and paste like PALM.
- should be able to toggle one touch calling off so that it asks before calling the number you touch.

Other than that, I have not had any significant issues, no crashes and other problems that have plagued other users.

I look forward to this being a product that will evolve and improve.

To move the text cursor, just hold your finger over the position you want the cursor to move to. A magnifying glass will appear, and then just adjust the position.

All you do is tap to the word you want to edit and the cursor will be placed at the end of the word - so you can just delete quickly. No need for "right" or "left" buttons.

Did you hear a whooshing sound above your head when you read some of those complaints?

They were making a parody of apparently the 'ridiculous' complaints that iPhone doesn't have MMS, video recording etc..

No, had to swim south with the current and climb on board the desalination plant.

Seriously though, currumbin SLSC has to be one of the best spots on the Gold Coast.
