Well, I just got the call. Rainchecked with Optus Strathfield in the Brisbane Myer Centre on the 14th. Black 16GB. So maybe this August 1st talk is really true, huh?
I've been keeping an eye on this board for a long while, and I'll keep doing so for the next few days. But cheers to everyone who posted with their info. Keep it up dudes. Good luck!

If they had a plan where it was $20 I would go for it, but at the moment I am not looking to be spending $750 until I start my new job in October.

No. I have a black 8GB one. I'm just saying a white one will show up cracks and dirt more than on the black. But they don't show up fingerprints as much as the black ones do.

Mines a White 16Gb on Tesltra. It has one dead pixel stuck on a light blue colour... Rang local apple shop and are getting brand new one... It had the dead pixel straight out of the box i only got it yesterday.

Otherwise its fantastic, im in a rural area and service is great!

Got my 16gb last week at the telstra shop in Manly. Decided to fork out the $847 outright rather than committing to one of the (possibly) dodgy plans they have rushed out (I am with vodafone atm and am looking forward to seeing data prices drop! ). Had an interesting time trying to work the unlocking process with little help from Tesltra. I love my iphone..but I have some criticisms of the sms application - it's very lacking - eg. can't seem to be able to forward an sms and can't save drafts. If you have to check something while composing an sms it should do an auto save in drafts. Seems pretty basic phone stuff...but iphone misses out here. Otherwise I love it!!!!

One feature of 2.0 that hasn't been mentioned:

Video podcasts play in both landscape and portrait!

I was scanning through my podcast list and in version 1.1.3 when I tapped on a video podcast in the podcast section it would only play the audio, but to my surprise it played the video in landscape, and when I rotated the phone it went into portrait.

A smally but a goody!

I wish that when you had the phone held in landscape mode (longways) that the menu would move with it when you're watching movies/tv shows.

I like my iPhone lots but I can't seem to get it to connect to the wifi at my small business.

It connects fine at home (both home and work have the same long strong password but different SSID's) and both are using WPA encryption.

The wireless network is detected ok, it asks for the password I enter it and it fails to connect (and yes the password is correct, I reset the work router and entered all the details again twice as well as tried re-entering on the iPhone several times). At home after entering the password the 1st time it just connected.

The only difference I can think of seems to be the router at home is a Dynalink RTA1025W (on 1.5Mb ADSL1) and the router at work is a Netgear DG384G (on 8Mb ADSL1). Other than that it's been excellent.

Perhaps you need to log into the work's router / setup page and maybe they have Wireless Access Exceptions ( where only allowed MAC Address's are allowed to connect ) whether you know the password or not.

For my router ( netgear ) the address to log in is 192.168.0.1 the username: admin and the password: password (thats the default) so try that. Thats the only thing i can think of. Especially being a work network

Hope this helps :P

Nice phone, but a few negatives -

No Audiobook or webcast audio playback via a mono Blue Ant Bluetooth earpiece, I used to do that a LOT on my past 2 phones

No voice dialing - Not a big issue, but it was handy when using the Bluetooth earpiece

The GPS function is nice, but is going to chew through data. It would be nice if I could pre-download maps on my wireless connection prior to setting off on trips. (This may be possible, I dont know?)

2MP camera - Pfth, honestly why bother

No MMS - Again, why is that so hard to do...

Otherwise, it seems ok so far.
