Just returned from Optus World Doncaster (Vic)
Only contract iPhones left.
All pre-paid sold out this AM.
I'm looking for a pre-paid iphone in Melbourne if anyone can help...

Elsternwick Optus World had a few 8GB left as of around 2pm. They only got 3 8GB Pre-paid which were gone within 10 minutes of opening (3 of the first 20 bought them). Probably sold out by now

don't try it. ask for an early leave. maybe 300+ppl in queue and growing...
edit: correction, around 200+, but i cannot see how many upstairs. the whole store serves for iphone now. nuts...

Optus at Collins Street sold out of 16GB Black around 9.30am and 16GB White around 1.30pm. They had enough 8GBs left to service the line, which around that time was still about 30-50 people long.
I can also confirm that Optus Niddrie ran out of 16GB sometime before 8.30am too, not sure whetehr they got more during the day.
All of them offered rainchecks, but really, if we wanted rainchecks would we have wasted so long queuing? At least the Collins Street store was reasonably good about sharing information about the depletion of stock levels...

just grabbed an optus sales rep and she knew nothing about the stock. will try to keep an apple sales rep once they pass by.

Telechoice (Optus Reseller) at Mt Ommaney Qld still have some 8GB Black. But they aren't letting anyone through because they still have a backlog of Optus activation to do.
They suggested to come back tomorrow morning.

If you live in or around Puckle St in sunny Mooney Ponds, nobody has any except Beyond the Box has a demo one you can play with while they wait for stock.
Still, I got to play with one (16Gb, white) and what can I say? The thing is pure prψn. |

just asked an apple sales rep, she's quite confident with the stock for tomorrow. seems they've stocked up piles and piles of iphones back there. again to secure one, come earlier!

t-Life Sydney:
SOLD OUT: 16GB Black
AVAILABLE: all other models
No queues downstairs, bit of waiting upstairs. I guess I'll be getting a white one after all (damn I hate myself for being so weak)...
Buying outright (no plan) not a problem.

Nope. Australa's Telecom in Elizabeth St didn't get their shipment in time, Allphones over at Eastlands only got about 10, which were reserved for deposit holders.
I think that's all the Optus resellers in Hobart anyway...
