Got my white 16gb iPhone after a 5 minute wait!
VERY HAPPY considering i was about to go to the apple iphone store today, glad i went to My Mac Bondi Junction instead.

They have lots of stock of 8gb and 16gb white

However, some customers were having problems, credit check or porting from 3 wasn't working.

i signed up 1st day they came out at like 10 am and still have not got it

I asked the girl at Allphones in Greensborough Plaza (Melbourne) and she said they have 8gb black iPhones. I asked in the morning but not sure how many they have in stock or if you need to have a raincheck. It's worth giving them a call in the morning to get more info

I checked Castle Towers (Sydney) today
Vodafone had 1 white 16GB iPhone and some 8GB (contract only)
Telstra had plenty of 8GB iPhones, but no 16GB
Optus had nothing

Yea i been ringin like everyday they keep gettin differnt dates they said when i 1st signed up they said they was gettin stock in on monday and i will get it then and yea then i ring up they said tuesday then they said they are not sure when they are gettin stock now

The fact that there are people waiting for weeks while some big (and even some small) stores haven't run out of stock yet shows that Apple should have come up with some kind of on-line ordering facility, via the on-line Apple Store. This also would have put the on-line store onto a lot more people's mental map.

Something like: you order, then nominate a carrier retail outlet near you to have the phone shipped to for pick-up and activation. This shouldn't have been too hard!

FYI, on Saturday afternoon both the Apple Store and the T-Life store in Sydney had plenty of stock of all models. Picked up a 16GB-black for my wife...

most Next Byte stores are now selling iPhones.

I have been told by a friend who works at one of the stores that they have stock and will be selling them through Telstra (both on plan and outright) from Monday 28th July

Apple retailer in Wagga Wagga has 4 x 8gb iPhones which are available on Vodafone contract;
Telstra Shop in Wagga Wagga has 8gb and 16gb iPhones. They wouldn't tell me how many they had in stock.

Anyone know the situation in Perth Stores?

Do anyone any update on Brisbane stores? I'm after a 16GB any colour. Prefer Optus, either prepaid or postpaid.

Ordered today via optus phone sales and I receive on Thursday 31st. However this is for the white which is what I have wanted from the start, he did say if it were black it wouldn't be delivered until the 3rd of september. Was a nice guy and the whole process only took about 30 mins including being on hold. He also didn't seem to be sick of the iphone either. I would highly recommend phone sales!

I walked into telstra shop werribee today afta 2 weeks of no iphone through optus they had 30 white 16gb and 30 black 16gb walked out with the black.

Now that's desperate.

How can you afford those Telstra rates, especially the crappy data rates?

I ordered my iphone 16g Black through vodafone as a handset upgrade and am still waiting. However, there seems to be some progress at today they have removed the back order notice on their site when choosing an iphone handet! Lets hjope it arrives soon! Hopefully this means stores will get theirs soon too.
