I think optus in sydney have a few Iphones available but they require a small wait.
My mate bought one and waited about 1-2 weeks and got his.

I have not rainchecked - I'd prefer to walk in to a store and walk out with a phone, even if that means a longer wait before I can do that.
My impression from Eastland Optusworld was that they have been getting in iphones, but all of them going to people who have rainchecked (either 8GB or white 16GB).
If you were to walk into the store today and raincheck an 8GB or White 16GB, they are saying that your phone will be in by the 1st of August.
They give a 3 - 4 week wait for the 16GB Blacks, but might be less than that if you have already rainchecked.
Basically a similar story to everywhere else in terms of Optusworlds.

Well, I haven't actually seen them, but every time I've asked, they've said things like "We got another delivery today, but they were all for people who rainchecked etc."

Anyone know what the stock levels and wait-in-line times are like for the Apple Store in Sydney? Driving up from Canberra to Sydney tomorrow and thinking of jumping in line for an iPhone.

Myer Melbourne have all iPhones on Vodafone plans. They are up on level 4, near all the Apple computers.
I signed a contract today for a Black 16gb, the guy said they had a fair few more, but they are selling quick.
My number ported over within 15 minutes, as I lost reception on my Optus mobile within that time. Very happy with my new phone!!!

Does anyone know what time the Allphones store in Eastlands, Hobart opens? I want to give them a call tomorrow, before I go away for the weekend.

Got a call from a Telstra business rep yesterday...
would i like an iPhone.. yes...how many?...3...what size? one 16 and two 8... what plan etc?
Done can he bring straight to me now? He delivers them today
So any one in Gippsland wanting an iPhone right now, any size etc.
Give the Telstra shop in Traralgon a call they're open today. Apparently they've only sold half their allotment. Probably because they keep telling people like me they weren't getting them originally.

Well, I was on the phone to optus customer relations and really optus in general yesterday for about three hours trying to get confirmation of when I would receive my phone order. They said they could not absolutely confirm the delivery of my phone on any given date, so I asked them to cancel the order/upgrade.
Then I went across to the apple shop (near work) and lined up, to which some lovely lady informed me that had closed the line, and then proceeded to tell me they had run out of 16gb black anyway.
So i went back to the apple store, lined up at 7am this morning - was 6th in line - and now i have my AWESOME new black 16gb iPhone!!
Apple store is the way to go guys, they get shipments in each morning - so get there early to ensure you get what you want!! (I.e. Black 16gb).

I purchased an iphone 8gb on a post paid contract on Thursday but am not so jazzed with it so if anyone is interested in buying it outright we can negotiate - am not interested in making money or anything just need to pay back the contract cancellation fee & get it unlocked so that whoever buys it can get it as a prepaid phone.

I Was told it would be a week or at most two week before I got my iPhone.
No such luck!
As at Monday this week I was apparently number 3 or 4 on the list but their supplies are VERY erratic it seems. Today, the same story. They got no phones delivered today and have no idea at all about when they will get any units. The girl I am dealing with is friendly but NO detail is coming about supplies or timelines.
I read here about stories that 16GB iPhones may not be available until middle September then I also read other stories of people getting both white and black 16GB units on a daily basis.
The store tells me to ring Optus. waste of time. i either get an Indian call centre who have no idea or I get the Australian sales area who tell me the "middle september" story but tell me that ONLY the store can answer me. Conversely, they tell me that I can have a 16GB white phone "next week".
I seem to be between a rock and a hard place.
If the timeline is 16 September I am considering cancelling the contract. This is actually a pretty lousing business practice by Optus.
Does anyone know somewhere in Brisbane where i can get a 16GB phone - white OR black?

Hi,
I feel your pain. I signed a raincheck for a 16gb white at OW North Sydney while queing up at 6.00am on the 11th and am still waiting. Every time I ring up and ask when my phone will arrive they they say tomorrow. But tomorrow never comes.
I rang Optus to cancel my contract but they said I could only cancel if I pay the fee. I am gettng F%@^%G frustrated.
Is there anyone else who sighned a raincheck at Optus North Syd on 11th and is still waiting. I'd like to know
