just walked into Telstra store at Helensvale QLD and brought 16 gig white iphone
it was to easy now just have to wait for the unlocking to go through
they said they were getting more black 16 gig next week looks like the demand is slowing and they are becoming easer to get as their have been plenty of 8 gig models around.

I was just in AllPhones down the eastern end of Rundle Mall, Adelaide. They have 1 16gb black iPhone for Vodafone, and 1 8gb iPhone for Optus - if anyone is interested.
I was after a 16gb black on Optus, so had to leave empty handed yet again  |

First time post,
Am planning on making the trek to Apple Store Sydney (from Wollongong) on Sunday to finally get myself an iPhone.
Can anyone give some insight as to the possible availability on Black 16GB and what the line up time might be.

Help - Where can i get an 16GB iPhone in Brisbane
Frustration time.....
On Monday 14 July I signed a 2 year contract for a 16GB Black iPhone from Brookside Optus World. I ported my number from the 3 network. i am using my new Optus SIM in an old Nokia.
I Was told it would be a week or at most two week before I got my iPhone.
No such luck!
As at Monday this week I was apparently number 3 or 4 on the list but their supplies are VERY erratic it seems. Today, the same story. They got no phones delivered today and have no idea at all about when they will get any units. The girl I am dealing with is friendly but NO detail is coming about supplies or timelines.
I read here about stories that 16GB iPhones may not be available until middle September then I also read other stories of people getting both white and black 16GB units on a daily basis.
The store tells me to ring Optus. waste of time. i either get an Indian call centre who have no idea or I get the Australian sales area who tell me the "middle september" story but tell me that ONLY the store can answer me. Conversely, they tell me that I can have a 16GB white phone "next week".
I seem to be between a rock and a hard place.
If the timeline is 16 September I am considering cancelling the contract. This is actually a pretty lousing business practice by Optus.
Does anyone know somewhere in Brisbane where i can get a 16GB phone - white OR black?

Eastland Optusworld - great and polite service but no iphones unless you already rainchecked - I was told today that apart from 16GB Blacks, the ETA if you raincheck is down to 1 week (ie. 1st of August)
