Yeah I know, but thems the breaks eh? I think there's something you can do about it, 'cause legally, you don't have to pay for something you don't own, but I'll have to look into it more. Though hopefully I won't have to 'cause I'll get it within a week or so. Some dude at an optus store mentioned something about Wednesday, so I'm secretly hoping he's right. I'll keep you lot posted with how long it takes for us perthies.

If you don't get it next week, go into your store and ask for the first month free.

My Telechoice store told me that all rainchecks get a free first month of service. I'm not sure if it's an official Optus/Telechoice policy, but it can't hurt to try.

optus store in centrepoint westfields sydney had about 20 8gigs come in about 2 hours ago. Walked straight in and out with iphone in about 20 minutes...unlike the freaks lining up at apple store for over 4 hours or down at Optus george st for over an hour

Some people won't be able to see it for the clouds :P

I'm actually glad I didn't line up early on Friday morning. Vodafone and Telstra were too late in announcing their plan pricing, and I wasn't going to jump straight into something not knowing what the best deal is.

I'm happy to wait for mine, but I'm still glad I went in there and signed the contract early. It feels better knowing you're guaranteed one instead of having to go through all the waiting around and phoning up BS.

And... BOOM! I feel like decryption's avatar now!

Click the image to open in full size.

DSE George St, Sydney. Stock is limited! Vodafone, locked, outright. Prepaid.

No 16GB's available, so I bought the 8GB Black.

$785.00

I wasn't about to travel to Hornsby DSE. I had to run to the city (2 hours) just to get this phone.

NO QUEUES! In and out in 5 minutes.

they are selling them outright/pre-paid on vodafone now? I know they announced they would earlier, but i couldn't find any mention of it on their website/online store with pricing, call/data rates etc..

It just came out today. Look here:

Vodafone APPLE iPHONE 8GB Black (E8887) - Dick Smith Electronics - Australia.
Vodafone APPLE iPHONE 16GB Black (E8891) - Dick Smith Electronics - Australia.
Vodafone APPLE iPHONE 16GB White (E8892) - Dick Smith Electronics - Australia.

I was quick to call them and run out the door with my money.

Some stores in Sydney CBD have the stock I think. But, they are not sellig them pre-paid, I dont understand the damn logic behind this.

Bloody ridicilous. I have the cash, want it pre-paid, whats the problem with that ???
