Vodafone Southland have some at 11am today (Saturday). The shop was dead.

I said to the guy, Optus are killing you. His reply, just quietly - yes.

Marion Telstra shop was the only one with stock yesterday, they had 220 units come in and at a guess only half were put aside yesterday (they wouldnt let us take them cause the systems were down).

So you best bet for a black 16GB is Marion. Good luck!

Not possible, as he already sold it to a friend I believe for $350. She didn't want the hand me down.

Dick Smith Westfield Hornsby has at least 8 16 GB White and lots of 8GB's. Was tempted to get one pre paid and unlock it (800-$900). They are a Voda dealer but have authority to sell them pre paid and to unlock and put in my Three Sim. Three said I could do this but the internet wouldn't work and had no data plans which would work on it.-voda stores can't do prepaid and sell to unlock apparently, only Dick Smith. One guy brought one as I was there and they have a demo model.very very nice.

The Voda delaers in Hornsby Westfield had lots of 8GB's.

Telstra had none and didn't know any details they clearly are not up to speed.

Optus had none and the next batch is 'weeks' away.

I was going to order one at Optus Hornsby but the guy there was so difficult I refused to buy off him. He was obviously pissed off going on about the iphone and I had to drag info out of him. he just wanted me to go-which I did.

Dick Smith though were brilliant just shame they are with extortioante voadfone

I just got back from the Apple store in Sydney. The lines were around the corner to sign up on Optus but I went in the store to look about anyway. Got to test drive the iphone for ages... love it

The staff person I spoke to said they have plenty of 16gb black in stock, but I'd just have to get in line to sign up to a carrier. His estimate of the Optus line was a 5hr wait. But he assured me the store had loads of stock and wouldn't leave empty-handed.

I didn't join the line - will wait til next week. It's great that I could take my time trying out the iphone, and that the stock is (apparently) there. Good luck to all who line up!

Did some phoning around Perth this morning as soon as shops opened.

Allphones in Whitfords had 16GB iPhones left as of 9am, but for Vodafone only.

Strathfield in Cannington had 1 8GB left as of 9am.

Strathfield in Rockingham had one 16GB left as of 9am.

The Optus World stores I called had all sold out.

It's chaos everywhere with people phoning up the stores and coming in to ask about iPhones

All of the Allphones stores were saying to come in and sign the contract and they would raincheck them for you. They're getting them straight from Apple, but can't specify when they'll be getting them. They have no idea, but they're pretty hopeful that it will be soon. I'm guessing that's how most stores will be doing it now.

Figured I might as well get in early, so I signed up. I'm 2nd on the list for Allphones in Maddington. Just keep in mind that your contract starts after you sign, so you might be paying for something you don't yet have. But that's the risk you take when it comes to the iPhone :P

Oh wow - I hope the iPhone doesn't take long to get to you! What if it takes a month? You'd have paid for a month of access, yet, be iPhone-less
