I'm going to my store... well the shopping centre that the store is in... in an hour. I've got a feeling there'll be pre-registered people there that didn't put the store as their preference. Anyone know if I'd get priority over those guys, since I put the store as my preference? Probably a bit late to ask this ey. hah

Just called the Optus Store in George St, Sydney (took 8 attempts for them to answer the phone) and they confirmed to me that they now have about 20 customer left (Pre-registered) to serve and will shortly start taking orders from the general public who have not put placed a deposit. Further more! They have run out of black 16GB iPhones.. and only have the white backed 16Gb models and the 8Gb models left.. Last, they mentioned that if you want to pick up a pre-paid phone that you want to unlock for $80, then you only have the choice of the 8GB model iPhone no matter which store you go to this morning UNTIL 2 weeks from now, when the next large shipment is arriving into Australia with ample stock of 16GB models for pre-paid basis. I thought I should share this information, because it came from Meredith, the corporate relations manager of the whole of Optus Australia. She was essentially asked the question by the customer service staff who answered my call.

Cheers

Probably not unless the handsets are allocated according to registered interest. Which I'm really hoping they're not. Since I'm not going to my nominated store, looking for a handset that I didn't originally register preference for lol.

Thanks for that. I think I've finally decided to go prepay (cause the data market is very likely to change in the next 2 years) and I want a 16GB. A little more time at home on this cold, cold morning is appreciated.
