iPhone to iPhone 3G swap? Confused..
How to replace an original iPhone with an iPhone 3G
Ok so it states this:

The rest of the article relates how to back up your original iphone and what not for your 3g...
But, does this mean we can swap our iPhones that we imported for the new 3G ones?
It also states further down the page

So if we virginze and send back to its original state, and send it in with the AT&T sim card (and possibly say we only used it as a iTouch) we could get away with it and swap?

You would probably have to sign up for a new AT&T contract.

Thats what im thinking....but what happens for those "USA" users who didnt go on a AT&T plan but used it as an iPod...Apple stores were also selling them.
But I cant remember if you could access the iPod features without activating your plan or bypassing activation..

I'm not sure where you get the idea that "they" are replacing your iPhone. It's more that "you" are replacing your iPhone. You buy a new one and keep the old one, which is why AT&T are also providing information on what you can do with your old iPhone. |

You can't swap it here, full stop.
To do a swap/upgrade you need to get it on AT&T from the US.
