Exclamation Optus Prepaid For Iphone Stinks!!

Remember about a month ago now, when steve jobs announced the 8gb iphone for $199 us (about $220 AUD) and the 16gb for $299 (about $330 AUD)??

I remember... i was so happy i went and sold my 80gb ipod classic that i got at the start of this year. i sold it for $150.
i know i could have sold it for more but i just shrugged and said "WHO CARES!" i don't need it anymore! i already have $200 and with $150 in my pocket i can get the 16gb with $30 for credit!

then i got that email from optus labeled "Optus i phone 3g pricing"

i wish i never read it....

optus has just spread its cheeks and sat a huge douche on my forehead.

it then hit me that these greedy #$&*%@# at australian phone companys have decided to say screw steve jobs and his great ideas...

they have decided to sell it at like triple the price i thought leaving me really cut!

i want to write a letter to steve jobs telling him what these greedy piggies are doing!

I pray that vodafone will realease it at a good price but i doubt it.

now for my question..

since the phone will be cheap in the US
Should i wait for the iphone to come out in the U.S.A, buy it off ebay and then unlock it??

Hi

You do realise that Steve Jobs' price of US$199 for an iPhone is a subsidised price for an iPhone on a contract in the US?

So the prices from Optus is right on target really.

At the risk of replying to someone that joined in July 2008, has only one post and who's one and only post is a rant......

.....no

$199 is not the price of the iPhone....it's the price of an iPhone with a contract. If you can get an iPhone, off contract for $199 then go for it.....and don't forget to let everyone here know about it.

Yeah you could do that, but it will cost you about $800 (that's what it costs in USA, NOT $200) and you will have no warranty.
