Just looked at my credit card statement and it seems optus has refunded my $50 deposit. Anyone else had this happen?
Might have to give them a call!

Please don't.
I know this is a long thread, but if you do a quick forum search, you'll find the matter discussed to death several pages ago. It's not a big deal, and it doesn't look like it will affect your priority (well, what little of that there was anyway). |

So, after all the stats and the info on this thread. is it worth it for people without the deposit to line up outside a store ???
Where do you guys suggest people without the deposit shall go in Sydney.

Im not sure whether Optus and the Australian carriers are doing the same as A&TT but its one handset per customer.  |

it looks like to me that they are having midnight openings at a fes stores in Syd and Melb , but everywhere else is 7am , oh well dosent matter me , , just means ill get to sleep longer
I wonder when the other telcos will release there info , ive got a fealing they will spill the beans on monday or tuesday avro

i want my business plans dammit!
would there be any difference if i purchase the iphone from a different optus reseller? or everything that goes on at a reseller is the same and i shouldnt have any problems what so ever?

Ok, so we need a definite answer on whether the Sydney Optus Store will be opening at midnight. if so I should be there.
If not, i'll probably be getting into my local Optus store ( Bathurst ) at 5am (maybe 6am) in readiness for the 7am? opening..
say, are any of you guys from Bathurst / Orange / Lithgow?
I certainly don't want to be the only apple fanboy lining up.

7am is for the people who pre orded it ( lucky mee) other people start at 9 i think

If I buy prepaid, do i have to activate the phone or something in the store? I already have an optus pre paid sim card and i intend to use the same.
I ask coz if I get someone to buy it for me who has made the deposit, it would be under that person's name.
