Any news on the Apple Store Sydney selling the iPhone and what stock they have? I'd like to go there to test one out. How much do you think Vodafone had to pay to sell the iPhone there on their Carrier??

Still no refund here, very curious. Although I have to wonder if it means anything at all.

Just spoke to 2 Optus stores, Maribyrnong and Niddrie.....they both confirmed that they will "definitely" be opening at 7am.
I wasn't sure if this was confirmed but they sounded pretty certain.

i've just spent 30 minutes of hold etc trying to work out if they'll discount the termination fee even though i intend to continue with them. even tried to get through to the Solutions Plus dept, who normally handle cancellations of accounts. Anyway I think the poor Optus staff are dreading next week, with the amount of calls they're going to be inundated with....!!
They're sticking to a "until the iPhone is released we can't help you" policy, as all iwanted to do was get all of the nitty gritty sorted out so that when i walk into the Optus store I don't have to go through the whole rigmarole of trying to negotiate the termination fee.....
and yes the termination fee is written into the contract, and i am aware of it, but from my point of view I'm still giving Optus my dollars, and i spend close to $200/month with Optus anyway, so them reducing that termination fee isn't that much of an ask
will try Solutions Plus again later on in the week, maybe when Vodafone release their contract details lol!!

Just called the closest Optus stores to me Yes Optus - Taylors Lakes and Optus World - Deer Park and they both said the same thing, that they will definitely have stock and they will be opening at 7AM. No idea on stock levels, but they said "it will be mayhem" and to line up early.
Looks like we're camping out guys!

If all Optus shops are going to be opening at 7am, will camping out really be required?
I think I might get there an hour early or so.....

Mmm. I need to find a 100% reliable store in Sydney thats got parking nearby and will be open early. I really really hope they allow pre-signing and support MNP so I can jump across.

I just called up my local Optus World... the guy reckons they'll definitely be getting stock Thursday morning and they'll be selling them Thursday
Then I called up the Optus call centre and confirmed I'll be able to switch up to a plan from what I'm currently on... they said yes. Then I asked if they had any more information and he told me that all he knew was "July 11 release date, 8GB model will be $0 on $79 cap plan".
This is utterly ridiculous... I can see this becoming a complete shambles on the day, because no-one has any clue of what is going on.

Yeah the guys at Optus World Carlingford this morning seemed well behind the curve. Forgot to even mention the 2 plan types until I asked. Nothing about prepaid.

Agreed. It will be a royal stuff-up. Neither telcos have any idea how to filter down information, or update staff on official press release statements. So you have assistants with old plan knowledge, and you get utter confusion.
I think we really should wait next week - hopefully more concrete news.
