CustomerConnect - Optus CustomerConnect
Uploads are about 1:4 to 1:6 ratio (so, for 400 MB download its about 50 to 100 MB uploads)

Thanks for the quick reply, in the back of my mind i guessed uploads would count towards the limit.

Does this mean they're going to be holding pre-held devices for the $100/$50 clients? Now I'm confused.

I interpreted it to mean "The pre-order phones". I think she was managing expectations - I was calling over a bad phone line so I didn't want to linger"
My question was "Is the Dapto store likely to have stock on Friday?"
Given Dapto isn't exactly the hub of the digital universe, it's unlikely Optus would be sending it alot of stock - I think the Sydney city stores are much more likely to receive stock.
She didn't have to go look up the answer, so I got the feeling she'd answered the question before.
I thought they were holding the stock anyway? Or is it a case of you just get in 2 hours early and if you don't make it, the stock is anyones?

Yeah, I just got mine refunded too.
Invoice No: 106
Bank: Greater Building Society Ltd
existing Optus prepaid customer
Also, does anyone know if we are able to add data packs onto the Optus 'yes' plans, as opposed to the caps? Can't seem to find anything about this.

I've also never seen Mactalk and Optus in the same room together.

I was experiencing a lot of server errors, but I'd say updates, update, updates!

This is odd.
If it was a bulk refund, everybody should get a refund withing the same 24 to 48 hours (at most).
Its literally a single file that their back end would send to the bank and after that its up to how the payments clear with the other institutions (major banks first, then the smaller guys)
The drip feeding of deposit refunds almost seems manual - which would explain why they started a week early (or they wouldn't get them all done in the next 10 days).

Ok, now out of curiosity, how badly am I going to get pwn3d for being 15 months into a 'yes' plan, and wanting to upgrade? I guess someone on the thread has done this before... I am going to a higher rate plan. My handset is $5 a month.
The rest of my contract is only worth $280, but it ends in March 2009.
I've checked the termination fees, and they're pretty obnoxious. I'm not going to another carrier, I just want to upgrade my plan and add an iPhone.

Has anyone with a refund actually rung Optus and asked why?

You'll probably have to pay the standard cancellation fee. Call Optus and ask what that is, and if you end up having to pay less because of any iPhone-related recontracting deal (and there are specific rules for this situation) then that'll be a bonus

Possibly the order of refunding is alphabetically based?

Honestly, I don't know for sure, but with VF you can upgrade to a more expensive plan at any time. I would *assume* they'd let you as they will be getting more out of you.
Makes sense, but I've given up relating that to Australian telco's.

Couldn't be, otherwise decryption and I would have been refunded at very different times instead of the same day.

Yeah, I mean I pay out my handset, upgrade from yes 30 to yes 39 (iPhone edition), and start the iPhone handset payments. I guess *shrug*
I've submitted a query via the website, lets see how they mangle my inquiry.
