Some financial institutions do point score people who are wanting credit, and one of the scoring areas is the number of enquiries on your credit report over a period of time. "Credit hounds" as they are known in the industry may be perfectly innocent and law abiding credit enquirers, but too many and -zip- no credit for you!
So, yeah, it can affect it if you do too many. If you don't want credit from one of the consumer credit companies (like GE for example) in the next year or so though it won't matter.

as much as the iPhone is great among us forum users, i highly doubt that you are gong to get mugged after you buy it.

I'm planning on queuing at the Optus Store on cnr George St and Hunter St. I live around the corner so easy for me to get to. And if the queue is too crazy I can easily go home for a coffee and come back later. 1 hour in a queue would be about my limit. |

They also told me that they go through "Veda Advantage" (1300 762 207) for credit checks, and there wouldn't be the same effect to my credit rating if I went through them..
I've yet to call them and find out.

Wonder how it will work in a shopping centre like a westfield. can you get into the centre before trading hours or is it gonna be a mad rush from the centre entrance to the store at opening time?

Yeah, I'm not sure how this is going to happen. I want to head over to Optus World at Macquarie Centre. Anyone thinking of the same?
