All this on a 24 month contract = 44 x 24 = $1056

So....

100MB Data/month
$50 worth of calls/text
all for $1056

These prices don't include GST?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

Ignore - answered below - GST is included.
(Obviously your one does.... but the ones on the datasheet?

Is this right? - On a yes plan for $59 a month I have to pay $59 +$7 per month for a 16gb phone? I get 700mb of data and calls are 24’??
Yep. Thats correct.

Presuming you send around 316 txts per month, the amount included in the Yes play (including the +100 free texts plan). However the 59 cap will allow you to send 1400 texts, but you get 200mb less data, and seemingly no daily update on billing.

I find that hard to believe. Maybe some thousands or millions of kb's.

Yeah, you do get 200mb more data each month. I'm sure sure what 200mb would get you though... I'm a data newbie. Will play over the first free month.

But even so, say for the $79 plans....

Cap = 13.1 hours of talk and 700Mb of data
Pre-pay = 2.9 hours of talk and 700Mb of data

You get a lot more talk on caps.

Or is my maths wrong?

Long time reader here, first time poster.
I have one question for you guys. I do intend on purchasing a 8GB on PrePaid with optus. y question is:
I currently have an Optus number with Prepaid, and im happy with the "deal" they give me. So, can I purchase the iPhone or $729, ditch the sim they give me (not register it) and chuck in my other optus prepaid sim?
Or, if I do register the new sim, are there any on going charges?Or I just recharge when I want? Never heard of a CAP with prepaid before, thats all.
If someone can tell me, thanks!!

Don't worry about it tom. There is a lot of fine print on the site to read through.

sorry if this is a dumb question, but does this mean if I have paid my $100 Deposit then the 8GB will only cost me $629 in store?
