You don't need a credit card to make payments, but they usually use it for verification purposes when you sign up.

It is $279 upfront.

That's what Steve was talking about, but in USD.

WOOHOO!!!!

Now this is GREAT!
Not only will it be on NextG - but FREE TELSTRA HOTSPOT WIFI!!!

Thank you Telstra!!!!
Bring on July 11 now!

Will have to ensure I am one of the first at a Telstra shop!
Registered as soon as I saw it - and will even try and rig my work schedule that day now too!

I was hanging out hoping Telstra would get it - and I didn't expect free WIFI!

Just rang Telstra - $80 plan gets you $75 worth of calls and no data, she said It was the same as their existing $30 and $80 plans.

Love to use Telstra's network, but hate the pricing :-(

Come on Three announce something.

Edit: Oh, it's not available in store!

Optus employee tells me virtually impossible on Optus's system at the moment. So most unlikely. Pity, as I love the whole concept of Visual Voicemail

$30/month is totally within my price range.

Unless 3 come up with something better, I'm seriously considering taking Telstra up on their offer (one my contract's up, anyway).

I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but on the Telstra website under the register your interest page they have the following options:

Which Next G™ mobiles are you interested in?*
• Apple iPhone3G 8GB
• Apple iPhone3G 16GB Black
• Apple iPhone3G 16GB White

Since when has the 16Gb been availiable in Black?

Same here...I might make the switch to the Dark Side...after being with Optus since owning my first phone in 1999, it will be a massive change.
