Spoke with my contact in Telstra and she said all T-life stores will definitely have it plus a CBD or metro store in all states and a few regional locations. Still trying to find out exact locations for the 15 stores.

Please tell me you are not lying :P
Also, do you have to have a credit card to sign up to a plan? Or for people over 18 like me, with no credit card, can we use our bank cards etc etc?

You don't need a credit card to sign up to a plan, and if you have to pay any money a debit/bank card is fine. They just need enough ID for them to run a credit check and sign you up/bill you.

You need a hundred points, so a drivers licence, medicare card and bank ATM card / credit card are what you want.
This is the standard points value list

see these kinds of numbers make me think...
do people really think that +650 people are going to be at the Telstra Optus Voda stores at launch and you'll miss out on an iPhone? I don't.
Thats probably more phone sales than each store sees in a week or two

But if each store that is getting the iPhone in Australia (15 stores?) That's 650x15=9750. Wouldn't Telstra have more phones than that?

I love all these numbers that are getting bandied about. 4500 in total at one point... then in another thread it said 20000... now itw 650 for a particular store. I guess we wait and see if there's blood on launch day when geeks don't get one.

There's 5 days till launch. There is a 20% chance that Telstra will release the details on Tuesday and an 80% chance that you're friends or contacts will look like fools.

Okay Im gonna add to the numbers here.... But Im reading the email from the Telstra Specialist I have inside Telstra.. So take this info as you see fit....
Telstra will only be getting 15000 pieces Nationwide in the first instance.
10% of that will go to the T Life Stores (so 750 To Melbourne - 750 Sydney): which coincides with that 650 mentioned above).
The last bit of info was a bit blurry, being that Telstra's channel will only be getting 200-300 in Melbourne.. I am suspecting he means Telstra stores in Victoria will be getting 200 - 300 so based on 64 stores in Victoria, thats about 5 units per store!
Even the Telstra blokes are saying they are gonna have to queue.
This is looking to be a major let down come Friday!

If I go with Telstra I'm going to George street at 6pm if they open at midnight or 5-6am if they open at 9am. Hopefully I'll get one

I'm taking the more relaxed approach. I'll wait and see what goes down. I have no doubts that I wont miss out on one. I might not be the first with one tho.
But whats the difference? People are still gonna be talking about it a month after.
