the HipTop plans are not what we should expect on the iPhone. HipTop has crappy 2G and a dodgy browser, Telstra knows they can't release an unlimited plan because they know it would be easy to abuse on an iPhone.
I actually hope it doesn't include data. That way I can add plenty of data to a $30 plan, instead of being stuck with more minutes than I need just to get the data I want.

I won't be surprised if the $30 plan come with little (if any) data except for whereis/home tab stuff that is already unmetered.
I don't care - I'll try and nag ma and pa for it simply for the relatively cheap cool factor.
I'm going to try the angle that it's cheaper (upfront) than buying me a new phone and iPod (and that if they buy it I'll always love them

SOLD!
Well, that fixes me up. Another Taswegian who'll be able to get 3G. Well, considering my Vodafone coverage doesn't reach my house (and I live ten minutes out of the CBD) I'll be glad to do a deal with the devil and be able to answer my phone anywhere in the house (rather than just the laundry).
If the $30 plan includes data, all the better. If not, I'll add my own data plan. Huzzah!

I love it!.... I still think Optus and Vodaphone got it by default on account of their connections in other Countries. ie: Optus/Singapore.
Telstra was always going to be Apples preffered choice.

I'm currently on a Optus Prepaid and if the data rates on the Telstra plans are good then Telstra just picked up a customer.
(Until Optus and Vodafone announce)

The data plan would be $30 a month with Telstra...
